The Victory Against You in the Silent War is Your Silence

Your Life Is Hacked
Popularized As Reality

Bug Bash

  • Hackers launch attacks exploiting ‘Shellshock’ bug in Bash software

Hackers have launched attacks exploiting the newly identified “Shellshock” computer bug, researchers warned on Thursday, as news surfaced that an initial patch for the issue was incomplete, suggesting even updated systems were vulnerable.
The attacks came as security experts scrambled to determine how many systems and what types of computers are vulnerable to “Shellshock,” which some say may be as serious as the “Heartbleed” vulnerability that surfaced in April.
“Shellshock” is a bug in a piece of software known as “Bash” that runs the command prompt on many Unix computers, including some Linux servers that run websites, and tiny computers inside consumer devices such as routers and web cams.

  • Bug in Bash shell creates big security hole on anything with *nix in it [Updated]  UPDATE, 9/25: The Bash vulnerability, now dubbed by some as “Shellshock,” has been reportedly found in use by an active exploit against Web servers. Additionally, the initial patch for the vulnerability was incomplete and still allows for attacks to succeed, according to a new CERT alert. See Ars’ latest report for further details, our initial report is below.

There are other services that run on Linux and Unix systems, such as the CUPS printing system, that are similarly dependent on Bash that could be vulnerable.

There is an easy test to determine if a Linux or Unix system is vulnerable. To check your system, from a command line, type:

env x='() { :;}; echo vulnerable' bash -c "echo this is a test"

If the system is vulnerable, the output will be:

    vulnerable
     this is a test

An unaffected (or patched) system will output:

bash: warning: x: ignoring function definition attempt
bash: error importing function definition for `x'
     this is a test

The fix is an update to a patched version of the Bash shell. To be safe, administrators should do a blanket update of their versions of Bash in any case.

Hacking Freedom For Security

  • Abbott: reduction in freedom necessary to save lives from terrorism threat
Tony Abbott says ‘delicate balance between freedom and security’ may have to shift  Australians must accept a reduction in freedom and an increase in security “for some time to come” to save lives from the significant threat of terrorism, Tony Abbott has told parliament.
The prime minister asked Australians to support a shift in “the delicate balance between freedom and security” as he sought to bolster his case for the biggest overhaul of the nation’s counterterrorism laws in a decade.

  • US, Arab allies bomb IS militants in Syria – US also strikes Qaeda group led by Kuwaiti
The United States and its Arab allies bombed Syria for the first time yesterday, killing scores of Islamic State fighters and members of a separate Al-Qaeda-linked group, opening a new front against militants by joining Syria’s three-year-old civil war. In a remarkable sign of shifting Middle East alliances, the attacks encountered no objection – and even signs of tacit approval – from President Bashar Al-Assad’s Syrian government, which said Washington had notified it in advance.
US Central Command (CENTCOM) said Bahrain, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates participated in or supported the strikes against Islamic State targets. All are countries hostile to Assad but now fearful of the fighters that have emerged out of the anti-Assad rebellion they backed. US President Barack Obama said in a televised statement that the breadth of the coalition, including the five Arab states, showed the United States was not alone.
  • UAE’s 1st female fighter pilot carried out strikes Social media has been buzzing with rumors that F-16 pilot Maj. Mariam al-Mansouri played a part in attacks against the jihadist group, with many users taking delight in the rebuke it implied toward the militants’ ultraconservative ideology.  “Sorry #ISIS, I know this too much and so harsh but it’s real,” taunted Twitter user @kafrev, which purports to represent an opposition-held town in Syria, using an alternate name for the Islamic State group. “A woman bombed you!”
  • US-led strikes hit IS group as coalition grows
The European countries committed to take part only in the Iraq part of the military campaign, leaving the operation in Syria to the United States and five Arab allies who began conducting airstrikes there on Tuesday. Still, the broadening of the coalition provides a welcome boost for President Barack Obama and the American-led campaign.

  • Islamic fighters advance in Syria despite U.S. strikes  However, the intensifying advance on the northern town of Kobani showed the difficulty Washington faces in defeating Islamist fighters in Syria, where it lacks strong military allies on the ground.
“Those air strikes are not important. We need soldiers on the ground,” said Hamed, a refugee who fled into Turkey from the Islamic State advance.

  • How imminent is an ‘imminent’ attack threat? They warned that members of the shadowy Khorasan Group, an al-Qaida offshoot, were “nearing the execution phase” of an attack in the U.S. or Europe.
They spoke of “active plotting that posed an imminent threat.”
People may have come away with the impression that the terror group was on the brink of pulling off something awful.
    Perhaps not.
In government-speak, “imminent attack plotting” doesn’t necessarily mean an attack is imminent.
Careful parsing of the language reveals a distinction between imminent plotting and an imminent attack.
Likewise, an imminent threat doesn’t necessarily mean an imminent attack.
And, in the view of the government, there’s more than one meaning for imminent, it turns out.
  • U.S. strikes to avert another 9/11: America deploys its awesome arsenal – including its new F-22 Raptor stealth fighter The attacks began with the launching of 47 Tomahawk cruise missiles from two US guided missile destroyers, USS Arleigh Burke and USS Philippine Sea, operating from international waters in the Red Sea and the northern Gulf.
Fighter jets including America’s £87million F-22 stealth Raptor then continued the assault. It marked the first time the US has used the F-22 in combat.
The jets, backed by armed drones, hit targets in and around the IS stronghold of Raqqa – the de facto capital of the Islamic State – where the Western hostages were thought to have been held.

  • Nayirah (testimony) The Nayirah testimony was a fake testimony given before the non-governmental Congressional Human Rights Caucus on October 10, 1990 by a woman who provided only her first name, Nayirah. The testimony was widely publicized, and was cited numerous times by United States senators and the American president in their rationale to back Kuwait in the Gulf War. In 1992, it was revealed that Nayirah’s last name was al-Ṣabaḥ (Arabic: نيره الصباح‎) and that she was the daughter of Saud Al-Sabah, the Kuwaiti ambassador to the United States. Furthermore, it was revealed that her testimony was organized as part of the Citizens for a Free Kuwait public relations campaign which was run by Hill & Knowlton for the Kuwaiti government. Following this, al-Sabah’s testimony has come to be regarded as a classic example of modern atrocity propaganda.[1][2]
  • Full Text of Pres. Obama’s Remarks to the UN General Assembly Of course, terrorism is not new. Speaking before this Assembly, President Kennedy put it well: “Terror is not a new weapon,” he said. “Throughout history it has been used by those who could not prevail, either by persuasion or example.” In the 20th century, terror was used by all manner of groups who failed to come to power through public support. But in this century, we have faced a more lethal and ideological brand of terrorists who have perverted one of the world’s great religions. With access to technology that allows small groups to do great harm, they have embraced a nightmarish vision that would divide the world into adherents and infidels – killing as many innocent civilians as possible; and employing the most brutal methods to intimidate people within their communities.”

  • Lavrov: Western bloc headed by Washington rejects UN principle that all states are equal   The US-led Western block rejects the principle of the equality of sovereign states secured by the UN Charter while advocating democracy in the international arena, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov addressing the UNGA.
“The US-led Western alliance, while acting as an advocate of democracy, rule of law and human rights in individual countries, is acting in the international arena from the opposite position, rejecting the democratic principle of the sovereign right of states enshrined in the UN Charter and trying to decide for others what is good and what is bad,” Lavrov said at the 69th session of the UN General Assembly in New York on Saturday.

  • Blackwater-like contractor seeks to legalize private police in the U.S.
This is probably the scariest development in law enforcement, ever, and I don’t say that lightly. If you thought no-knock SWAT raids to serve warrants for non-violent crimes was the epitome of tyranny, wait until you get a load of private mercenaries conducting special forces-type raids on American citizens.

That’s right, a report out of Mendocino, California admits that Blackwater-like private “security” contractors are now being used to “police pot.” Mysterious soldiers repelled out of unmarked helicopters fully armed for war to raid legal medical cannabis gardens last month. They didn’t identify themselves or present paperwork of any kind. They just destroyed the garden and left. Other witnesses claim this invading army is also “confiscating” product.

To Shoot You Down

  • Graphic Dashcam Video Shows State Trooper Shoot Unarmed Man With His Hands Up  State Trooper Sean Groubert has been fired and faces 20 years in prison for gross negligence during a seat belt stop.
On September 4, 2014 Groubert pulled over 35-year-old Levar Jones at a Circle-K gas station. During the stop Jones exited his vehicle at which point Groubert asked for his license.
When Jones went to get his license Groubert began shooting.
While shooting at Jones, Groubert yelled “Get out of the car, get out of the car.”
Jones replied,”I just got my license, you said get my license.”
Amazingly enough, Jones had the composure to put his hands up while being shot at, yet Groubert still fired on the surrendering man.
Groubert kept telling Jones to get on the ground.
While on the ground Jones said, “I have my license right here, you said get my license.”

  • FBI Says No One Killed at Sandy Hook
Recently released FBI crime statistics curiously show that no murders occurred in Newtown, Connecticut, in 2012, despite reports that numerous schoolchildren and faculty members were slaughtered during a shooting rampage in December of that year.
  • Sandy Hook Investigator: Connecticut PD Had FBI Falsify Crime Statistics  [Video Interview]

Prominent school safety consultant and former Florida state trooper Wolfgang Halbig says he’s spoken with the FBI regarding crime statistics which show no murders occurred in Newtown in 2012.

“I did get a response,” Halbig said yesterday on the Alex Jones Show. “I called New Haven FBI offices and their response is they’ve been asked by the Connecticut State Police not to put those numbers on their data sheet. Now when has the state police ever told the FBI what to do?” “The American people need to wake up and listen to what these exercises are,” says Halbig. “A Homeland Security FEMA Capstone Exercise, it starts at the White House, at the president’s desk, goes all the way through Congress, through the Attorney General, down through the FBI, all the way down to the local government. It is a whole community event, and that’s what I think happened at Sandy Hook.” “The state troopers showed me where the script is within the 11,000 page document. You know, the Sandy Hook commission the governor appointed they actually called this 11,000 page document the biggest data dump… You’ll spend the rest of your life trying to read it and trying to understand it.” “I’m telling you nobody died… I’ve been a school administrator for 30 some odd years. When I have a child with a broken arm, or I’ve got a fight on the school bus, or a child’s been stabbed or shot, the first thing we get ready for are lawsuits. Alex, if there would have been just 2 or 3 lawsuits filed by the parents or loved ones who lost someone that day at Sandy Hook, I’d go away.”

Living in a Reality Made For Your Consumption

  • Pea in a Cup

“THIS CAN’T BE TRUE!”, “for crying out loud!?”

Your head pounds in disbelief as you see the truth in the words, “The ‘ORS©’ or statutory law is private Bar Association law and not the Law of the people”. This is evidenced by the copyright in the title page of these now mere corporate By-laws (“as law” not real Law, mere policy/police).

    Substituted Law.

Returning to the construction statutes of the ‘ORS©’, you find the most compelling proof since finding that the ‘ORS©’ is the law/by-law/as law/policy of a foreign corporation that has been secreted upon you. This proof is at ORS© 174.550, Statute revision of 1953 substituted for statutes repealed by ORS© 174.520. The provisions of the statute laws described in ORS© “174.510 (1) are considered as substituted in a continuing way for the provisions of the prior statute laws repealed by ORS© 174.520”.

SUBSTITUTED LAW!!! And, look closely, it isn’t even substituted, it really is “as substituted“. (Just like your “money”, it is not ‘Money’ specie. It works merely “as money”. It is corporate debt scrip; as money, ‘legal’ tender.) You can’t believe what you are reading, the law of the people ‘as substituted’ for the policy of a foreign corporation! In this scam, the Bar cleverly moves the substituted pea to yet another cup pouring it out as legitimate drink for consumption by the hand fed people.

Turning Heads, Gaining Attention

  • This seems to be going well
Gallup released a new poll late last week showing how many (or few, as it were) Americans are ‘satisfied’ with the direction of the country. 23%. That’s it. 76% are NOT satisfied. Only 1% aren’t sure.
The chart below shows the astounding, long-term decline since 2000.
  • Police officer shot in Ferguson  A police officer has been shot in the US city of Ferguson, Missouri, a St. Louis suburb still gripped by public outrage over the killing of an unarmed teenager by a cop last month.
St. Louis County Police spokesman Brian Schellman told CNN that the officer was not killed in the incident.
The officer was shot in the arm, KMOV 4 reports as police have cordoned off the crime scene. Reports indicate the suspect fled on foot. K9 officers and police helicopters are searching the area.
  • Dress-code enforcement draws parent, student ire Parent Chad Pehrson said his 17-year-old daughter was one of dozens of students at Bingham High School in South Jordan who were pulled aside before entering the dance last Saturday.
Pehrson said his daughter was told her dress was too short despite it complying with the school policy. She and other students were turned away, Pehrson said, while other students wearing similar dresses or outfits that violated the policy were allowed inside. Students were allowed to enter while wearing strapless dresses, which are permitted, but other students wearing gowns with straps, sleeves or high necks were flagged because they had keyhole openings in the back, parents said Wednesday.
“To turn my daughter away, and to get her upset over an evening that she spent four hours trying to get ready for . . . and then to have it blown apart, is completely off the wall,” Pehrson said.

  • Eric Holder Is Resigning

And now, for the best news of the day, we go to NPR which reports that Eric “Too Big To Prosecute” Holder is resigning. From NPR:

Eric Holder Jr., the nation’s first black U.S. attorney general, is preparing to announce his resignation Thursday after a tumultuous tenure marked by civil rights advances, national security threats, reforms to the criminal justice system and five and a half years of fights with Republicans in Congress.

  • Eric Holder: Crime Dropped, Prison Population Decreased Over Last Year
The crime rate has dropped along with the prison population, Holder said, proving that “longer-than-necessary prison terms” aren’t always effective.
  • The crimes of Eric Holder Good riddance!
Eric Holder has announced that he is leaving his post of Attorney General, which he has sullied and degraded for six years.
A corporate lawyer with the Wall Street law firm Covington & Burling, Holder will be remembered for his timid defense of civil rights; his overseeing and even encouragement of the massive militarization of the nation’s police forces; his anti-First Amendment efforts to pursue not just whistleblowers but the journalists who use them; threatening both with jail and in fact jailing a number of them (particularly in the case of whistleblower extraordinaire Edward Snowden, and WikiLeaks journalist Julian Assange, both of whom reportedly face US treason charges); and his weak enforcement of environmental protection laws.
  • Eric Holder, Hate Crimes and Double Standards  Attorney General Holder seems determined to prove his chief critic, J. Christian Adams, right.
Adams is the former Justice Department lawyer who told Congress that the Attorney General treated cases of racial bias against white people with “open contempt.”
Most famously, Adams noted the case of electoral intimidation against two members of the New Black Panther Party who brandished weapons and issued threats at a Philadelphia polling booth the day Barack Obama was elected president.
This is the same New Black Panther Party that issued a $10,000 reward for the capture of George Zimmerman, dead or alive, for murder of Trayvon Martin. The same party leaders who said they wanted to mobilize 10,000 black men to bring Zimmerman to justice. Adams documented the racial bias at the Department of Justice with his best selling book, Injustice: Exposing the Racial Agenda of the Obama Justice Department.
“If Holder really were interested in enforcing civil rights laws for all Americans, he would be able to produce cases that shows he is doing just that,” Adams said. “But he cannot. Because he is not.”

I would just like to share a few of my observations from my recent trip to Russia (Moscow and vicinity). These are simply my observations and thoughts and by no means is this an in-depth report/comparison of the US/Russian political systems or societies. We all know that any country has its own unique problems.
That being said, it was eye-opening and even scary to view firsthand the differences between our nations at this point in time. What I saw was in stark contrast to the way Russia is depicted in our media. This being my first trip to Russia, I did not know what to expect.
