  • Comets stink: space probe finds odor of urine, rotten eggs and alcohol

The mass spectrometer analyzed the chemical signature of  gas given off by the “coma,” the comet’s head, and found numerous unexpected compounds. The Rosina team believed only the most volatile molecules — carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide — would be released as the comet’s icy surface started slowly to warm, but they were in for a surprise.

  • Thousands of undersea volcanoes revealed in new map of ocean floor Scientists have created the highest resolution map yet of the ocean floor, revealing thousands of underwater mountains and extinct volcanoes that were previously unknown. Asked whether we would ever be able to see the bottom of the seafloor with resolution as high as those images of Mars, a planet more than 100 million miles away, Sandwell responded: “Not in our lifetimes.”
  • Thousands of undersea volcanoes revealed in new map of ocean floor  Second Report “You might think, that’s not so much better, but instead of seeing 5,000 old volcanoes down there, now we can see 10,000,” said David Sandwell, a geophysics professor at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego who led the study. Scientists know remarkably little about the deep-sea floor. Sandwell thinks of it almost as a separate planet in our solar system that we have only begun to explore.“We have maps of Mars that have 100 to 10,000 times more resolution than maps of the deep ocean,” he said.

  • Newly Discovered Microbe Is Key Player In Climate Change   The findings, published in the journal Nature, should help scientists improve their simulations of future climate by replacing assumptions about the different greenhouse gases emitted from thawing permafrost with new understanding of how different communities of microbes control the release of these gases.

  • Call the Suicide Prevention Hotline — Get Killed by a SWAT Team

A still-unidentified 35-year-old man from Roy, Utah called a suicide prevention hotline at 4:00 a.m. Tuesday morning (October 21). A SWAT team showed up and, according to Roy PD spokesman Matt Gwynn, “negotiated” with the “subject” for more than six hours.

“At some point those negotiations failed and unfortunately the SWAT team was involved in a shooting, and the subject is now deceased,” Gwynn told a reporter for the Ogden Standard-Examiner, taking refuge in the familiar, officially-prescribed impersonal language used to describe police shootings.

  • Washington state school shooting: ‘Run, get out of here’

Jordan Luton was finishing his lunch in the cafeteria at Washington state’s Marysville-Pilchuck High School on Friday when he heard it — a loud bang.
Then there was another. And another. And another. And another.

  • Washington school shooting! CNN caught saying there was SWAT training?!!  As news about an active shooter at Marysville-Pilchuck High School (just North of Seattle) was breaking… A CNN reporter seemed caught off-guard when she was handed something to read cold. It was notification about SWAT training around the same area. You can hear her shake the paper and say “this was yesterday” in an irritated tone… It just so happens there is yet another school shooting at the same time as another SWAT training event?!
  • School Shooting or SWAT Training?

Local law enforcement under the direction of the Marysville Police Department will be holding a SWAT training in the large fenced parking… That bulletin has been stripped from the Marysville School District website, but here is the screen shoot from Google, showing yesterday’s announcement of SWAT training for Marysville Police.

  • Rival Gun Measures On Ballot In Washington

Two competing measures on the Washington state ballot this fall ask voters to take a stance on expanded background checks for gun sales. One is seeking universal checks for all sales and transfers, including private transactions. The other would prevent any such expansion.

Supporters of the initiative to expand background checks have received large donations from wealthy figures, including Microsoft co-founders Bill Gates and Paul Allen, and have spent millions, far outpacing the anti-expansion effort.

What happens if both pass on Nov. 4 is anyone’s guess, though the Washington secretary of state’s office has said that either the Legislature or the courts would have to sort it out.

  • China launches new World Bank rival China and India are backing a 21 country $100 billion Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) to challenge to the World Bank and Asian Development Bank.
Memorandum of understanding were signed with 21 Asian countries in Beijing Friday. Australia, Indonesia and South Korea were absent following hidden pressure from Washington.
  • Dear Mr. President: Why is U.S. ‘Humanitarian Aid’ Going Straight to ISIS?  The US State Department, led by the fumbling John Kerry, and flippant Jen Psaki and the even more flippant CIA sorority operative, Marie Harf, all seem to be Stuck on Stupid when it comes to Syria.
The tired old lie – that U.S. foreign assistance is spread around the world in the name of ‘peace and good will’, has finally been delivered the knock-out blow it needed to be put out of its banal misery this week. A truly glorious effort byThe Do Goodersand NGO syndicates of Washington DC and Europe, making sure Jihadi lunatic murders of ISIS warm blankets and hot dinners at night.

According to this latest revelation out of Syria (see full article below), “Not only are foodstuffs, medical supplies – even clinics – going to ISIS, the distribution networks are paying ISIS ‘taxes’ and putting ISIS people on their payrolls.” As lobbyists in Washington cry out for more “humanitarian aid” for a conflict started and sustained by the US and its allies, isn’t reassuring to know that both the CIA front organisation, USAID, and vaccine moguls WHO – are right in middle of this Syrian debacle.

  • U.S. Humanitarian Aid Going to ISIS While U.S. warplanes strike at the militants of the so-called Islamic State in both Syria and Iraq, truckloads of U.S. and Western aid has been flowing into territory controlled by the jihadists, assisting them to build their terror-inspiring “caliphate.” The Bible says if your enemy is hungry, feed him, and if he is thirsty, give him something to drink—doing so will “heap burning coals” of shame on his head. But there is no evidence that the militants of the Islamic State, widely known as ISIS or ISIL, feel any sense of disgrace or indignity (and certainly not gratitude) receiving charity from their foes.
  • Secret Project Created Weaponized Ebola in South Africa in the 1980s
“No records are available to confirm that the biological agents were destroyed.” Operating out of South Africa during the Apartheid era in the early 1980’s, Dr. Wouter Basson launched a secret bioweapons project called Project Coast. The goal of the project was to develop biological and chemical agents that would either kill or sterilize the black population and assassinate political enemies. Among the agents developed were Marburg and Ebola viruses.
  • Ebola Reaches Mali
Less than a week after two west African countries successfully rid themselves of Ebola, another has announced its first case of the disease. In a television address on Thursday, Mali’s health minister, Ousmane Kone, revealed that a two-year-old girl has tested positive for the virus.
The girl was hospitalized yesterday in Kayes, a town in western Mali. A health official told Reuters that relatives brought her into the country from neighboring Guinea, where the outbreak began, after her mother died of the disease a few weeks ago.
Kone said that the girl is improving, Reuters reported, and that those who had direct contact with her are currently being monitored for signs of the disease.
  • Ebola crisis: ‘Many exposed’ to infected Mali girl

Health officials fear many people may have been exposed to Mali’s first Ebola victim – a two-year-old girl.

She recently arrived from Guinea, one of the worst affected countries, and has since died.

The girl showed symptoms, including a bleeding nose, while travelling on a public bus through several towns, the World Health Organization (WHO) said.

Forty-three people, including 10 health workers, who came into contact with her have been identified and isolated.

  • Budding Nightmare: Toddler who brought Ebola virus to Mali dies – 43 people in isolation who had close contact   BAMAKO, Mali – Many people in Mali are at high risk of catching Ebola because the toddler who brought the disease to the country was bleeding from her nose as she travelled on a bus from Guinea, the World Health Organization warned Friday. The U.N. agency is treating the situation as an emergency since many people may have had “high-risk exposures” to the 2-year-old girl during her journey through several towns in Mali, including two hours in the capital, Bamako. The girl was travelling with her grandmother. The toddler died in an isolation tent at a hospital in the western city of Kayes on Friday, according to a nurse at the facility, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the press. This is the first Ebola case in Mali and may expand to many more. The case highlights how quickly the virus can hop borders and even oceans, just as questions are being asked about what precautions health care workers who treat Ebola patients should take when they return home from the hot zone.

And As Predicted, Just After

  • Ebola Vaccine Trials Underway in Mali  A clinical trial of a promising Ebola vaccine has gotten underway in the west African country of Mali, which borders Guinea, the epicenter of the deadly viral epidemic that now has killed 4,000 people.
This phase of testing of the experimental vaccine against Ebola began this week in Mali when it was given to three health workers who volunteered. The health workers would be the first to fight the disease if it broke out in Bamako.
Health workers are on the frontline and run the highest risk of being infected, says the director of the Mali center for vaccine development, Dr. Samba Sow.

Or Of Things Fearbola-Like

  • 12-year-old girl in Ghana died of something else other than Ebola   Blood tests have shown that a 12-year-old girl in Ghana who died of viral fever with bleeding did not have Ebola, Health Minister Sherry Ayittey said on Monday. The girl was the first suspected case in Ghana of Ebola, which has killed more than 90 people in Guinea and Liberia. Another suspected case has been reported in Mali. Medical charity Medecins Sans Frontieres has warned of an unprecedented epidemic in an impoverished region with weak health services. Samples from the girl, who has not been identified, were brought to the capital Accra from the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi, Ghana’s second-largest city. “The report from the Noguchi Memorial Institute says categorically that the samples of the blood they analyzed is negative ID Ebola virus and also negative of any common viral fever,” Ayittey told a news conference.
“We would like to allay the fears of Ghanaians that the Ebola virus has been detected in Ghana,” she said.

Of A Medical System Without Principles

  • Johns Hopkins Scientist Raises Serious Vaccine Questions Peter Doshi, a scientist at Johns Hopkins University, recently published a paper in the British Medical Journal raising serious questions about the benefits of the influenza vaccine. In his paper, he criticized the methodologies of the major studies on which America’s public health push is based, as well as pointing to statistics which indicated that there are more potential dangers to the vaccine than the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention indicate. Some of the potential side effects are mercury poisoning, increased incidence in narcolepsy, even death.

  • Montgomery doctor files lawsuit after ‘excessive’ shocking incident  Man suffered heart attack, kidney failure from officers’ shocks

”Somebody grabbed me around the neck, they body slammed me then multiple people got on top of me then I started getting Tased,” said Dr. Randal Cox.

Cox claims he was arrested at his home during a birthday party for his 18-year-old son who had terminal brain cancer, and died a few months later.

“He was devastated,” Cox said, “For something like that to happen to me then get whisked away in handcuffs.”

    Watch this story

Cox can be seen in cellphone video after being shocked saying, “I can’t breathe, I can’t breathe.”

Cox said he had no idea why police had come to his door.

“I thought initially since we were having a birthday party some of the kids had parked in somebody’s yard,” Cox said.

NASA astronaut Scott Kelly, who is scheduled to fly on a one-year spaceflight mission in 2015, is lending his voice to help reduce childhood bullying. As part of Bullying Prevention Awareness Month, Kelly recorded a special message encouraging bystanders to take action.

“Be more than just a bystander,” said Kelly in the message. “Take action and do something to stop bullying…Teamwork makes the dream work at NASA. There is no space for bullying.”

A Society of Crickets Preferring Pains and Punishments

  • Shocking but true: students prefer jolt of pain to being made to sit and think

It was not so much how hard people found the challenge, but how far they would go to avoid it that left researchers gobsmacked. The task? To sit in a chair and do nothing but think.

So unbearable did some find it that they took up the safe but alarming opportunity to give themselves mild electric shocks in an attempt to break the tedium.

Two-thirds of men pressed a button to deliver a painful jolt during a 15-minute spell of solitude. One man – an outlier – found thinking so disagreeable he opted for a shock 190 times.
