  • KFC to Serve Edible Coffee Cups KFC is about to launch an edible coffee cup.
The heat-resistant chocolate coated cookie biscuit cup called “Scoff-ee Cup” are currently on trial at KFC locations in the UK for a limited time. It will soon be launched across KFC restaurants in the UK.

According to the company, “KFC’s ‘Scoff-ee Cup’ is a 100 percent edible coffee cup that are infused with a variety of mood improving aromas such as coconut sun cream, freshly cut grass and wild flowers.”

Life Saving Video

  • But for the video… But Dendinger had asked his wife and nephew to record him serving the papers. It was a last minute decision, but one that may have saved him his freedom.
From what can be seen on the clips, Dendinger never touches Cassard, who calmly takes the envelope and walks back into the courthouse, handing [prosecutor Leigh Anne] Wall the envelope.
“He’d still be in a world of trouble if he didn’t have that film,” said David Cressy, a friend of Dendinger who once served as a prosecutor under [former St. Tammany District Attorney Walter] Reed. “It was him against all of them. They took advantage of that and said all sorts of fictitious things happened. And it didn’t happen. It would still be going like that had they not had the film.”

  • FCC Votes In Favor Of Rules Aimed At Enforcing ‘Net Neutrality’

Internet service providers like Comcast, Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile now must act in the “public interest” when providing a mobile connection to your home or phone, under rules approved Thursday by a divided Federal Communications Commission.

The plan, which puts the Internet in the same regulatory camp as the telephone and bans business practices that are “unjust or unreasonable,” represents the biggest regulatory shakeup to the industry in almost two decades. The goal is to prevent providers from slowing or blocking web traffic, or creating paid fast lanes on the Internet, said FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler.

The 3-2 vote was expected to trigger industry lawsuits that could take several years to resolve. Still, consumer advocates cheered the regulations as a victory for smaller Internet-based companies which feared they would have to pay “tolls” to move their content.

Verizon said in a statement — which was originally released in Morse code — that the FCC’s move imposes 1930s rules on the Internet.

  • MEGA Changes Payment Systems

MEGA is aware of a report published by NetNames (partially funded from the MPAA supported Digital Citizens Alliance) that incorrectly claims MEGA’s business to not be a legitimate cloud storage service. MEGA is aware that Senator Leahy (Vermont, Chair Senate Judiciary Committee) then pressured Visa and MasterCard to cease providing payment services to the companies named in that report.

Visa and MasterCard then pressured PayPal to cease providing payment services to MEGA.

MEGA provided extensive statistics and other evidence showing that MEGA’s business is legitimate and legally compliant. After discussions that appeared to satisfy PayPal’s queries, MEGA authorised PayPal to share that material with Visa and MasterCard. Eventually PayPal made a non-negotiable decision to immediately terminate services to MEGA. PayPal has apologised for this situation and confirmed that MEGA management are upstanding and acting in good faith. PayPal acknowledged that the business is legitimate, but advised that a key concern was that MEGA has a unique model with its end-to-end encryption which leads to “unknowability of what is on the platform”.

  • Pencil Lead Scores Victory In Supreme Court Decision

An incredible victory comes to us from the US Supreme Court, in a decision that is definitely coming down on the side of the people! In the recent decision, the people are being protected, and government officials are being held accountable.

The backstory on this one is incredible for sure, here’s what happened…

Kim Lee Millbrook, a prisoner in the custody of the Federal Bureau of Prisons, attempted to sue the Federal Government in the District Court under the Federal Tort Claims Act, alleged that he had been physically and sexually assaulted by two corrections officers, while a third one stood watch. The court refused to hear the case, and an Appeals Court agreed, by propping their contention on faulty case law, as they often do, on the premise that the assault in question did not take place during a search, seizure, or arrest.

Although Mr. Millbrook was warned against filing what were called “frivolous papers” with any other court under threat of legal retribution, he proceeded (without a lawyer) to write a petition to the Supreme Court to have his case heard. The petition was written with a pencil in longhand and submitted to the Supreme Court. Considering the fact that this court accepts less than 1% of the petitions submitted, the odds of success were grim at best.

Surprisingly his petition was accepted, and the US Justice Department, which had previously backed the lower court’s decisions, quickly backpedaled on that stance. Obviously they knew that the case law commonly used to cloud the corruption of lower court decisions would soon be blown out of the water in this case, and they were trying to save face in front of the Supreme Court.

  • Georgia Republican: Nobody Should Need A Driver’s License

In an interview with CBS Atlanta News, Franklin claimed driver’s licenses are a throw back to oppressive times.

“Agents of the state demanding your papers,” he said. “We’re getting that way here.”

  • Cop Sentenced to Death for Fatally Shooting Pregnant Mother and Her Unborn Child

    It’s actually happening.

An officer is being sentenced to death for shooting a pregnant woman and her unborn child to death, and injuring her husband.

The husband and wife were enjoying their dinner at a restaurant they owned when a cop came in, began harassing them, and eventually opened fire on them.

You know that in the United States, when victims are compensated with money for crimes committed by cops, it’s stolen from your paycheck — the taxpayer — not the cops individually. So why would a killer cop now be put to death?

It’s because we’re talking about China, not the United States.

The officer, Hu Ping, killed the woman in south China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

He is paying 73,324 yuan to the victim’s family before he is extinguished in accordance with the decision of Chinese citizens.

If a cop did this in America, do you think he’d be punished for it?

Even if he were punished, do you think he’d be put to death?

  • Text Messages Show Officers Who Shot 137 Rounds Into Car Knew Suspects Were Unarmed

Officer Michael Brelo is preparing to stand trial for a November 29, 2012 shooting in which him and 12 other officers fired 137 shots at multiple unarmed victims.

Brelo stands accused of firing 46 shots, some while on the hood of the victims’ car. The shooting resulted in the deaths of Timothy Russell and Malissa Williams, two unarmed victims who fled a traffic stop.

Brelo claims that he is innocent, but prosecutors are accusing him, his attorney and the police union of a massive coverup.

Brelo and one of the other officers involved in the murder that night, James Hummel, exchanged text messages just after leaving the scene of the crime. The officers openly discussed being aware that the victims were unarmed.

    According to Cleveland.com:

In the hours following the shooting, Patrolman James Hummel sent texts in which he said “they all knew” neither of the victims had a gun – that the officers had mistaken a silver can of soda pop for a weapon, prosecutors said.

The texts said that what some of the officers had suspected were gunshots were actually backfires from the fleeing car, that Brelo “was going to be in trouble,” and that “everyone knew Brelo did something wrong,” prosecutors said.

Throughout the course of the investigation, the police union reportedly told the officers involved to deny any wrongdoing in the case and to remain silent in front of prosecutors.

  • Outgoing UN IPCC Chief reveals global warming ‘is my religion and my dharma’ IPCC Chair Pachauri forced out at UN climate panel after sexual harassment complaint
Pachauri’s resignation letter on religion: ‘For me the protection of Planet Earth, the survival of all species and sustainability of our ecosystems is more than a mission. It is my religion and my dharma.’
UN IPCC critic Journalist Donna Laframboise responds: ‘Yes, the IPCC – which we’re told to take seriously because it is a scientific body producing scientific reports – has, in fact, been led by an environmentalist on a mission. By someone for whom protecting the planet is a religious calling.’
  • Geoengineering Is Changing Extratropical Cyclones Which Drive Most of The Earth’s Weather  Intense geoengineering activity across the planet is influencing weather patterns globally to unprecedented levels. After studying one year of video on aerosols emission and transport, NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory has found aerosol pollution is changing weather and climate around the planet and strengthening extratropical cyclones–a type of storm system that drives much of the world’s weather.

This video above shows aerosol emission and transport from September 1, 2006 to April 10, 2007. Credit: NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.

Scientists call airborne particles of any sort — human-produced or natural — aerosols. However, human-produced aerosals are now a top contributing source of pollution and a major concern, especially due to operations by international governments through military aircraft which pollute the sky almost daily to influence climate.

  • Coalition of Police Officers Heads to D.C. to Demand the Broken and Brutal Police System Be Fixed

The National Coalition of Law Enforcement Officers for Justice, Reform and Accountability (NCLEO) is a contingent of current and retired law enforcement officers and whistleblowers. NCLEO will be meeting with a congressional delegation that includes civil rights icon Rep. John Lewis in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday to discuss policing reform.

These former officers seek to assist in helping to reform a system that is severely broken and many times entirely devoid of justice. Problems that range from racial profiling and police brutality to the lack transparency in relation to allegations and complaints of misconduct by officers will be addressed.

“Modern policing is in a crisis that could lead to a revolution. We need a paradigm shift to get rid of antiquated policing. The insular culture of law enforcement and mental health issues in cops need to be addressed, as well as ingrained racism,” said NCLEO member Alex Salazar, a former LAPD cop turned whistleblower, in an interview with The Free Thought Project.

All too often we see the police, as well as prosecutors, ignore officer misconduct and in effect passively support the status quo of a broken justice system. To the public at large the “us vs. them” mentality held by law enforcement emboldens an anti-police response from the public and only serves to create a greater divide.

He said the Iraqi parliament has asked London for explanations in this regard.

  • Nato and Russia hold rival military exercises on Estonian border
Russian and Nato troops took part in rival exercises on either side of the Estonian border on Wednesday, highlighting fears that the tiny Baltic state could be the next target of the Kremlin’s territorial ambitions.
Nato forces put on a show of strength within yards of Estonia’s Russian border, with armoured personnel carriers, tanks and 1,300 Estonian soldiers forming a military parade. The parade, which also included 100 troops from Britain and other European nations, followed warnings from David Cameron on Tuesday that the Baltics could be next in Russia’s sights for a Crimea-style annexation.
The parade took place in the snow-bound Estonian frontier town of Narva, where a majority of residents are ethnic Russians. The choice of location was a pointed warning to Moscow, which regards the Russian community there as de facto evidence that Estonia is part of Russia’s “back yard”.
The Kremlin responded with its own military drills, sending 2,000 paratroopers into Russia’s western Pskov region, which borders both Estonia and neighbouring Latvia.

Dangerous Games Governments Play

  • The CIA May Have Just Assassinated Boris Nemtsov In Moscow To Blame Putin
On the heels of the news out of Moscow that Boris Nemtsov was gunned down, today Dr. Paul Craig Roberts spoke with King World News about the CIA and the murder of Nemtsov. This is a fascinating trip down the rabbit hole with the former U.S. Treasury official as he is warning that the CIA may be out of control.
  • ‘Nemtsov was an outspoken critic of Russia’s involvement in Ukraine’
Boris Nemtsov, 55-year-old former deputy prime minister and Putin critic, was shot dead in Moscow, days before an opposition rally. DW spoke to Russia analyst Yury Barmin about Nemtsov’s significance. DW: Why is Nemtsov’s murder causing such a stir?
Yury Barmin: Nemtsov was an outspoken critic of Putin and Russia’s alleged involvement in the crisis in eastern Ukraine. The murder is causing a stir because Nemtsov was one of the organizers of a protest rally that is to take place in Moscow on March 1. The opposition was quick to suggest that there is a connection between the two.
Who was Nemtsov? What made him so important after all these years?
Nemtsov had a bright political career. In the 1990s, he served as President Yeltsin’s envoy in the Russian city of Nizhny Novgorod. He later served as governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region and then as the deputy prime minister of the government. So during Russia’s most liberal years, he was a prominent political figure and an advocate of the withdrawal of Russia’s troops from Chechnya during the First Chechen War.
Under Putin, Nemtsov was a deputy in the Russian Parliament and a member of the liberal opposition. Nemtsov had recently begun publishing reports and articles about corruption in Russia.
Was Nemtsov a threat to Putin?
I don’t think he was a threat to Putin, at least he was not perceived as such. He is certainly a prominent opposition figure in Russia, but politically he was not a threat to Putin. Ilya Yashin, a liberal politician and a friend of Nemtsov’s, claimed that he was going to publish a report on Russia’s involvement in Ukraine and quite logically, there was a version that he was murdered to prevent him from publishing this report.

Famous politician Boris Nemtsov was killed on the night between Friday and Saturday in downtown Moscow on Vasilevsky descent . According to investigators, the killer shot in politics when he was walking in the center of Moscow in the company of a citizen of Ukraine, whose name was not disclosed.

  • Leaked cables show Netanyahu’s Iran bomb claim contradicted by Mossad Binyamin Netanyahu’s dramatic declaration to world leaders in 2012 that Iran was about a year away from making a nuclear bomb was contradicted by his own secret service, according to a top-secret Mossad document.
It is part of a cache of hundreds of dossiers, files and cables from the world’s major intelligence services – one of the biggest spy leaks in recent times.
Brandishing a cartoon of a bomb with a red line to illustrate his point, the Israeli prime minister warned the UN in New York that Iran would be able to build nuclear weapons the following year and called for action to halt the process.
But in a secret report shared with South Africa a few weeks later, Israel’s intelligence agency concluded that Iran was “not performing the activity necessary to produce weapons”. The report highlights the gulf between the public claims and rhetoric of top Israeli politicians and the assessments of Israel’s military and intelligence establishment.

  • Apple Patents Technology to Locate Switched-Off iPhones Apple has patented technology that makes it possible to track the phone’s location even after the gadget has been shutdown, according to patent documentation published on the US Patent and Trademark Office’s site.

The documentation describes the technology as “a wireless data processing device” periodically switching on and transmitting location data.

“The embodiments of the invention described below add an additional layer of security to locate devices” when “the product has been lost/stolen and subsequently switched off,” the patent’s documentation explains the technology’s applicability.

The tracking feature may be an added security measure for the next generation of iPhones and other devices.

  • Russian researchers expose breakthrough U.S. spying program

The U.S. National Security Agency has figured out how to hide spying software deep within hard drives made by Western Digital, Seagate, Toshiba and other top manufacturers, giving the agency the means to eavesdrop on the majority of the world’s computers, according to cyber researchers and former operatives.

That long-sought and closely guarded ability was part of a cluster of spying programs discovered by Kaspersky Lab, the Moscow-based security software maker that has exposed a series of Western cyberespionage operations.

Kaspersky said it found personal computers in 30 countries infected with one or more of the spying programs, with the most infections seen in Iran, followed by Russia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, China, Mali, Syria, Yemen and Algeria. The targets included government and military institutions, telecommunication companies, banks, energy companies, nuclear researchers, media, and Islamic activists, Kaspersky said. (reut.rs/1L5knm0)

  • Risk Assessment / Security & Hacktivism
How “omnipotent” hackers tied to NSA hid for 14 years—and were found at last

    — In 2009, one or more prestigious researchers received a CD by mail that contained pictures and other materials from a recent scientific conference they attended in Houston. The scientists didn’t know it then, but the disc also delivered a malicious payload developed by a highly advanced hacking operation that had been active since at least 2001. The CD, it seems, was tampered with on its way through the mail.

It wasn’t the first time the operators—dubbed the “Equation Group” by researchers from Moscow-based Kaspersky Lab—had secretly intercepted a package in transit, booby-trapped its contents, and sent it to its intended destination. In 2002 or 2003, Equation Group members did something similar with an Oracle database installation CD in order to infect a different target with malware from the group’s extensive library. (Kaspersky settled on the name Equation Group because of members’ strong affinity for encryption algorithms, advanced obfuscation methods, and sophisticated techniques.) • 14 Year Old Hacks Car with Homespun Kit with Circuits Bought From Radio Shack

The actual procedure for the participants of the camp including the school kids was to take help of the assembled experts and attempt remote infiltration of a car.

Our boy however had different ideas altogether. He chose to have a go at hacking the car alone without any guidance from the experts available. At night he went to Radio Shack, spent $15 on parts and stayed up late into the night building his own circuit board.

What he did next morning left the experts flummoxed. Early morning, he used his homemade device to hack into the car of a major automaker. Within minutes the 14 year old had the car windshield wipers turned on and off. After demonstrating his hacking skills with the wipers, the boy unlocked and locked the car doors remotely and got the remote start feature engaged.

As a final bow to the entrapped audience, the 14 year old student even got the car’s lights to flash on and off which he then set to the beat from songs on his iPhone.

The people who ran the CyberAuto Challenge event refused to reveal the boy’s name or the brand of the car he was successful in hacking but they confirmed the 14 year olds exploits.

‘There’s no way he should be able to do that,’” Delphi’s Brown Jr. stated, recounting the previously undisclosed incident at a seminar held last Tuesday, on the industry’s readiness to handle cyber threats. Brown Jr. had one thing to say for the boy’s exploit, “It was mind-blowing,”

“It was a pivot moment,” said Dr. Anuja Sonalker, lead scientist and program manager at Battelle. “For the automakers participating, they realized, ‘Huh, the barrier to entry was far lower than we thought.’ You don’t have to be an engineer. You can be a kid with $14.”

  • “The Fraternity” – The Corruption of the Legal System Exposed by a Judge

    Lawyer domination

When a lawyer puts on a robe and takes the bench, he or she is called a judge. But in reality, when judges look down from the bench they are lawyers looking upon fellow members of their fraternity. In any other area of the free-enterprise system, this would be seen as a conflict of interest.

When a lawyer takes an oath as a judge, it merely enhances the ruling class of lawyers and judges. First of all, in Maricopa and Pima counties, judges are not elected but nominated by committees of lawyers, along with concerned citizens. How can they be expected not to be beholden to those who elevated them to the bench?

When they leave the bench, many return to large and successful law firms that leverage their names and relationships.

    Business of law

The concept of “time” has been converted into enormous revenue for lawyers. The profession has adopted elaborate systems where clients are billed for a lawyer’s time in six-minute increments. The paralegal profession is another brainchild of the fraternity,
