POLITICO: Dick Cheney gets involved in Kentucky US Senate race. THEY WANT TO DESTROY RAND PAUL

Another Paul Nettles GOP
by Jonathan Martin
"Recognizing the threat, a well-connected former aide to Vice President Dick Cheney convened a conference call last week between Grayson and a group of leading national security conservatives to sound the alarm about Paul.
“On foreign policy, [global war on terror], Gitmo, Afghanistan, Rand Paul is NOT one of us,” Cesar Conda wrote in an e-mail to figures such as Liz Cheney, William Kristol, Robert Kagan, Dan Senor and Marc Thiessen.
With an attached memo on Paul’s noninterventionist positions, Conda concluded: “It is our hope that you can help us get the word out about Rand Paul’s troubling and dangerous views on foreign policy.”
In an interview, Conda noted that Paul once advocated for closing down the detention center at Guantanamo Bay and sending some suspected terrorists to the front lines in Afghanistan."

Front Page Politico: Another Paul Nettles GOP

Senior Republicans in Kentucky and Washington are deeply concerned about Senate candidate Trey Grayson’s campaign as he struggles to narrow the gap against GOP primary rival Rand Paul.
Two months before the election, the libertarian-leaning Paul, son of the Texas congressman and quixotic presidential contender, has tapped into anti-Washington grass-roots fervor on the right and staked out an advantage over Grayson, Kentucky’s secretary of state and establishment favorite.
There have been few polls in the race, but an automated survey earlier this month showed Paul leading by double digits. Even Grayson backers acknowledge that their candidate is lagging, if not as badly as the public polls indicate.

Towne for Congress Goes International!!!

http://towneforcongress.com/economy/towne-for-congress-goes-...
Yesterday I was fortunate enough to be invited for a live interview on Russia Today, or RTAmerica. The show aired only in metropolitan areas like NYC and Washington, DC and was shown internationally as well. The interviewing was done remotely, so this was the first time to hear questions coming in my ear and then responding by looking into a camera, and believe me interviewing live is quite different from private conversations.Read more...

Ron Paul Interview on the Dodd Proposal's Treatment of the Fed

Perhaps the most surprising aspect of Senate Banking Committee Chairman Christopher Dodd's (D-CT) proposed financial reform bill (.pdf) was the role of the Federal Reserve. In his original draft from November, Dodd mostly stayed away from increasing the power of the Fed, seeking to establish a new systemic risk regulator, rather than provide that duty to the Fed like the House version. This week's new proposal, however, mostly fits in the House's mold. But he ultimately provides the Fed with even more power, by putting the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau under its umbrella, though it remains mostly independent. Then, he sort of attempts to reign in the Fed in a little with some new restrictions that come out of no where -- like not allowing any bank employees on the Fed's Board of Directors and requiring the president of the New York Fed to be nominated by the President and confirmed by the Senate.

How Your Twitter Account Could Land You in Jail

Land of the free, huh???
On the afternoon of September 24, 2009, Pennsylvania State Troopers, their guns drawn, broke down the door of room 238 of the CareFree Inn on the outskirts of Pittsburgh. The troopers were acting on a search warrant related to protests planned for the G20 summit—a meeting of the heads of state of the world's major economies. Thousands of protesters had descended on the city, presenting demands ranging from curbs on carbon emissions to the outright abolition of capitalism.
Anticipating hordes of black-masked, Starbucks-smashing anarchists, the Pittsburgh police and the Secret Service coordinated nearly 4,000 law enforcement officers, outfitting them with the latest in riot-dispersal technology. Crowds marching on the summit were met with pepper spray, stun grenades, and—for the first time on US soil—acoustic cannons that blast painful sounds as far as 1,000 feet. But the protesters had their own crowd-control methods, and that's what had brought the state troopers to the CareFree Inn.

Thomas Jefferson Quote of the Day

"I have recently been examining all the known superstitions of the world, and do not find in our particular superstition (Christianity) one redeeming feature. They are all alike founded on fables and mythology."
