From Christine’s Facebook Thread 8-31-2011

Hi all;

I am experiencing some wrist problems and may or may not be in chat today for very long, but I did manage a comment on a Facebook thread, and felt it appropriate to share here.

Thread title;

It was only a matter of time, now the gang calls itself the "federal family," working their way even further into the perception of every weak-minded American mind as a benevolent entity. Goebbels would be proud.

My comment is second in line;

I view it as a grave mistake to discount the opinions and perceptions of the masses.  So does corporate media.  In fact they count on such.  

How does one think it happens?  Do they transmit secret messages into the minds of the masses via haarp? The 'manufacturing of consent' doesn't originate solely from the government.  Even though Bush 'did' co-opt the media to sell the Iraq war(and the accompanying Patriot Act), this is just the transparent tip of the iceberg.  Also a great selling point for the corporations-in-charge to pass the buck.  

To us, depending on which views we espouse, government is perhaps either a necessary or not-so-necessary process.  To the ruling elite, government is 'just what they do'. Another day at the office.  To those who benefit from governmental intervention, it is a blessing.  Expect active but less-than-transparent opposition from this group.

All are in free market-based-competition for the minds of the masses.  The ones at the top, with exponentially-larger kingdoms as the move upward, exercise exponentially-larger influence on the minds of the populations.  They also bear an exponentially-disproportionate control over the systems which feed the informations(read the co-opted free markets, which are in most cases owned by the same ones that influence government actions).  Wall Street, pharma, military-industrial complex, etc.  

If government can be passed off as the 'great evil', it causes us to look away from the root causes, which in my view, seem to encompass the one-and-same entities who wield the most significant powers. With the added benefit of causing the populations to approve entirely of their(corps) running roughshod across our rights. While we simultaneously disavow any credibility of those who if by chance could once again be properly administered, might possibly stand in the way of this happening.
