EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES FEMA L141 INSTRUCTIONAL PRESENTATION & EVALUATION SKILLS

A basic three-day course for those who provide instruction, it deals with demonstrating effective presentation skills, conducting successful interactions, managing the classroom experience, and delivering instructional presentations. The course introduces the basics of adult learning and of training evaluation.

Participants have several opportunities to practice presentation and instructional skills, first as spokespersons for small groups. Then they deliver short duo presentations, 3-minute individual presentations, and finally 20-minute presentations of material related to their own programs or functions. A large number of job aids are provided to help in the application of training skills.

This course provides continuity exercise design training to continuity professionals at the Federal, State, Territorial, Local, and Tribal levels of government and the private sector and covers:

Continuity of Operations
Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP),
Unique aspects of continuity exercise design
Development of continuity exercises
Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to do the following:
Explain the viable elements and phases of continuity
Identify the steps of the continuity exercise design process using HSEEP methodology
Understand the key aspects of designing a continuity exercise
Design continuity exercises
Create continuity exercise documents
