The Power Behind The Woodshed

Precautionary Putin Principle

  • Where is Vladimir Putin? Russia’s President has been awol for 10 days and the rumour mill is in overdrive

Dmitry Peskov’s patience finally ran out. “We’ve already said this a hundred times, this isn’t funny any more.” Vladimir Putin, Russia’s strongman leader, ever-present across the past 15 years, was missing. And Mr Peskov, his mustachioed mouthpiece, was struggling to contain the story.

Apparently in sound health, Mr Putin had not been seen in public for more than a week. Where he has been – or is, if he doesn’t appear today – has been the subject of worldwide speculation. Whatever the answer, it is beyond doubt that there was a gaping, Vladimir Putin-sized hole in Russia for 10 days.

  • Kremlin Tells Journalists To Not Leave Moscow For The Weekend And To Expect A Major Announcement

I travel to Moscow and the territories of the former Soviet Union frequently to report for several major news outlets. From my viewpoint, there is definitely something going on in the Kremlin regarding Putin. It is very difficult to figure out what this is.
It could be he is out of the city to be with his mistress as they have their baby. It could be he has a health problem.
It could be that he has died. It could be a change in power or an attempt at such.
I have no reason to say the following translation is fake, nor can I confirm it.
What I can say is that the Russians are following the Soviet script regarding drama at the Kremlin–meaning you need the CIA to try and figure out what is going on.

  • Russian mystery: Kremlin says Putin is fine, but he’s out of public view
Where’s Putin? It was the question preoccupying Moscow and much of Russia on Friday, as speculation mounted about why President Vladimir Putin had not been seen in public since last week. He canceled a trip to Kazakhstan; postponed
  • North Korean Foreign Minister Makes Surprise Visit to Moscow
North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Su Yong, who has arrived in Moscow on an unscheduled visit, met with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov Friday, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

The two top diplomats “exchanged opinions about bilateral relations, situation on the Korean Peninsula and in Northeast Asia, as well as on several international issues of bilateral concern,” the ministry said in a statement.

The North Korean minister was last in Russia in the fall of 2014, staying in the country for 10 days.

The two countries have had diplomatic relations since the 1940s, then through the Soviet Union, and share a border.

Earlier in the week, North Korea’s state news agency reported that 2015 would be a “year of friendship with Russia,” marking the 70th anniversary of the end of the Second World War.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is set to visit Russia in May to attend WWII Victory Day celebrations.

Who Else But U.S. Pays For Al-CIA- . . . DUH

  • Declassified Documents: CIA Helped Fund al-Qaeda via Afghan Government Documents declassified at a trial of a suspected terrorist show that millions of dollars in CIA funds fell into the hands of al Qaeda in 2010. The money was used by Afghan officials in a ransom payment.

It’s deja vu all over again, Yogi Berra might say. Once again, US money funneled through the CIA into the Middle East has ended up being used against… well, the US. Correspondence made public at the trial of Abid Naseer, a Pakistani al-Qaeda operative convicted in Brooklyn of supporting terrorism and conspiring to bomb a British shopping center. They were originally obtained by federal authorities in the famous raid on Osama bin Laden’s compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, by Seal Team Six in which the US’s most wanted was killed.

  • C.I.A. Cash Ended Up in Coffers of Al Qaeda

In the spring of 2010, Afghan officials struck a deal to free an Afghan diplomat held hostage by Al Qaeda. But the price was steep — $5 million — and senior security officials were scrambling to come up with the money.

They first turned to a secret fund that the Central Intelligence Agency bankrolled with monthly cash deliveries to the presidential palace in Kabul, according to several Afghan officials involved in the episode. The Afghan government, they said, had already squirreled away about $1 million from that fund.

Within weeks, that money and $4 million more provided from other countries was handed over to Al Qaeda, replenishing its coffers after a relentless C.I.A. campaign of drone strikes in Pakistan had decimated the militant network’s upper ranks.

“God blessed us with a good amount of money this month,” Atiyah Abd al-Rahman, the group’s general manager, wrote in a letter to Osama bin Laden in June 2010, noting that the cash would be used for weapons and other operational needs.

  • Mysterious spy cameras collecting data at post offices

Within an hour of FOX31 Denver discovering a hidden camera, which was positioned to capture and record the license plates and facial features of customers leaving a Golden Post Office, the device was ripped from the ground and disappeared.

FOX31 Denver investigative reporter Chris Halsne confirmed the hidden camera and recorder is owned and operated by the United State Postal Inspection Service, the law enforcement branch of the U.S. Postal Service.

The recording device appeared to be tripped by any vehicle leaving the property on Johnson Road, but the lens was not positioned to capture images of the front door, employee entrance, or loading dock areas of the post office.

An alert customer first noticed the data collection device, hidden inside a utilities box, around Thanksgiving 2014. It stayed in place, taking photos through the busy Christmas holidays and into mid-January.

  • Banned: FAA Says It Is Illegal To Post Drone Videos on Youtube… But Drone Striking American Citizens Is Authorized [Listen for the Administrative Method to respond ]

If you’re like millions of other drone hobbyists in America who like to post their captured videos on Youtube then you could soon be receiving a legal notice from the Federal Aviation Administration.

Under existing FAA guidelines flying a drone for personal use is completely legal, as is recording video of your drone flight. But if you use the drone for commercial purposes, say for example to record an aerial view of a real estate property listing, then you’d be breaking the law.

But the FAA just found another loophole in their efforts to curb the popularity of drones. It turns out that if you record a drone flight video and post it on Youtube you may be breaking the law if an automatic advertisement is launched within the video. According to the FAA, because you make a few pennies off of that advertisement you are now using your video in a commercial capacity.

The consequences, according to the FAA, include fines and sanctions:

  • The CDC’s Role in Undoing Vaccine Exemptions: the NACCHO Front Group

NACCHO is The National Association of County and City Health Officials. If you briefly perused their website, you might be confused into thinking that they were a federal agency of sorts. First off, there’s the name. Many people associate “National Association” with something sort of official. The next thing that might throw you off is the way NACCHO describes themselves:

NACCHO’s members are the 2700 local health departments across the United States. NACCHO’s vision is health, equity, and security for all people in their communities through public health policies and services. NACCHO’s mission is to be a leader, partner, catalyst, and voice for local health departments in order to ensure the conditions that promote health and equity, combat disease, and improve the quality and length of all lives.

For the uninitiated, reading NACCHO’s self-description might cause you to reach the following conclusions:

    • NACCHO is a federal organization
    • Its members are all the local health departments
    • Somehow, this is a way for all the local health departments to all be connected together, probably there is a rule somewhere that says they should all coordinate themselves on a national basis (and there isn’t, the health of citizens is a state-level job, according to the U.S. Constitution)

Here’s the problem. NACCHO breaks out their revenue from membership dues on their 990 form. Are you ready for this? Here’s what NACCHO actually made in membership revenues in 2013:

  • Evolutionary tree: Humans may have evolved with plant genes, study claims

Humans may have evolved with the genes of plants, fungi and micro-organisms, according to a consensus-challenging Cambridge University study.

The study into the literal roots of mankind builds on, and to some extent confirms, the findings of a 2001 investigation into whether or not humans could have acquired DNA from plants.

It was heavily criticized at the time for being too weedy.

It is now accepted in some quarters that up to one percent of our genome could have originated in plants by way of horizontal genetic transfer, or HGT, a complex process in which particular bacteria transfer information about DNA.

The research suggests that humans, like certain other species, carried the DNA of organisms which lived in their surrounding environment rather than obtaining it through the much more linear process of breeding and descent.

In a statement on the University of Cambridge website, Dr. Alistair Crisp, lead author of the project undertaken by the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology, said: “This is the first study to show how widely horizontal gene transfer occurs in animals, including humans, giving rise to tens or hundreds of active ‘foreign’ genes.

  • Six Examples of Federal Government Overreach as we Move Toward a Total Takeover of Individual and States Rights

Everyone with even a half a brain knows that the federal government is out of control and continues to overreach in its power grab, while completely disregarding the Constitution, states rights, and individual rights and liberties.

The federal government, has its tyrannical hand in every facet of our lives, no matter how mundane it may seem, right down to regulating our toilet seat. And it’s nothing new, governments always work towards, gaining more power and control, and their gains are only limited by how hard the people push back.

  • Supreme Court rejects cases on Guantanamo detainee treatment

The justices left in place a September 2014 decision by the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, which ruled the images are exempt from disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act, a law intended to facilitate the release of information held by the government.

The appeals court said releasing the images could harm U.S. national security by inciting anti-American sentiment.

The cases are Janko v. Gates, U.S. Supreme Court, No. 14-650 and Center for Constitutional Rights v. CIA, U.S. Supreme Court, No. 14-658.

  • Boston Marathon bomb trial: FBI agent mistakes Grozny for Mecca in Twitter photo

Sparks flew in a federal courtroom in Boston on Tuesday in the trial of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev – the younger and only survivor of two brothers accused of perpetrating the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing – as the testimony of an FBI agent and witness for the prosecution collapsed under cross-examination by the defence.
Tsarnaev’s defence attorney Miriam Conrad surgically deconstructed testimony given late on Monday by an FBI agent that looked at Tsarnaev’s Twitter accounts – and embarrassed the FBI by showing them to have misidentified a picture of a mosque in Grozny, Chechnya, as the Muslim holy site of Mecca.

Government; The Fearful Master

  • You’re 55 Times More Likely to be Killed by a Police Officer than a Terrorist

    Police Killings Grossly Underreported

We previously reported that Americans are 9 times more likely to be killed by a police officer than a terrorist.

But it turns out that our numbers were incorrect …

    This isn’t surprising, given that:

Reliable estimates of the number of justifiable homicides committed by police officers in the United States do not exist.” A study of killings by police from 1999 to 2002 in the Central Florida region found that the national databases included (in Florida) only one-fourth of the number of persons killed by police as reported in the local news media.

    The Guardian reports today:

An average of 545 people killed by local and state law enforcement officers in the US went uncounted in the country’s most authoritative crime statistics every year for almost a decade, according to a report released on Tuesday.

The first-ever attempt by US record-keepers to estimate the number of uncounted “law enforcement homicides” exposed previous official tallies as capturing less than half of the real picture. The new estimate – an average of 928 people killed by police annually over eight recent years, compared to 383 in published FBI data – amounted to a more glaring admission than ever before of the government’s failure to track how many people police kill.

The revelation called into particular question the FBI practice of publishing annual totals of “justifiable homicides by law enforcement” – tallies that are widely cited in the media and elsewhere as the most accurate official count of police homicides.

As shown below, that means that you’re 55 times more likely to be killed by a police officer than a terrorist.

You’re Much More Likely to Be Killed By Brain-Eating Parasites, Texting While Driving, Toddlers, Lightning, Falling Out of Bed, Alcoholism, Food Poisoning, Choking On Food, a Financial Crash, Obesity, Medical Errors or “Autoerotic Asphyxiation” than by Terrorists

  • Cops Across the Country Being Disciplined, Not for Brutality, But for Not Writing Enough Tickets

As more and more officers across the country expose quota systems within their departments the mission of the American police officer is becoming quite clear; revenue generator.

As there is no money in solving murders or preventing rapes, police departments in America have focused their duties on traffic citations and the drug war. Both of these venues are highly profitable for departments.

City and state governments have become so addicted to these revenue streams that we are now seeing full-on military raids on people in fruitless attempts to find drugs and money. Along with the drug raids, we are seeing police officers forced to collect a certain amount of revenue through traffic enforcement, or risk losing their jobs.

Over the weekend, 4 more state troopers from Tennessee exposed their department for enforcing a quota system. There would be many more according to the troopers, but their fellow cops are afraid to speak up for fear of retaliation.

Last week, six cops in Whittier, CA filed a lawsuit against the city after they were retaliated against for refusing to act as revenue collectors by following ticket and arrest quotas.

  • Obama pressing for federal control of local police
Call it Common Core for police. But the White House, in cahoots with the Department of Justice, has set in motion a plan that will expand federal control of community police forces, via standards handed from above called the “Task Force on 21st Century Policing.”

“The U.S. Department of Justice, through the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services [COPS] and Office of Justice Programs, should provide technical assistance and incentive funding to jurisdictions with small police agencies that take steps towards shared services, regional training and consolidation,” one of the plan’s points stated.

The proposal also advocates for the federal collection of more data from local police.

“There is a lack of uniformity in data collection throughout law enforcement, and only patchwork methods of near real-time information sharing exist,” the plan stated, in the “national standards” section, Infowars found. “These problems are especially critical in light of the threats from terrorism and cybercrime.”

President Obama said he hoped to soon implement the plan among the nation’s 18,000 or so law enforcement jurisdictions.

NDAA Gangland Style

  • Shocked politicians and rights groups call for probe of ‘gestapo’ tactics at Chicago police ‘black site’

The US Department of Justice and embattled mayor Rahm Emanuel are under mounting pressure to investigate allegations of what one politician called “CIA or Gestapo tactics” at a secretive Chicago police facility exposed by the Guardian.

Politicians and civil-rights groups across the US expressed shock upon hearing descriptions of off-the-books interrogation at Homan Square, the Chicago warehouse that multiple lawyers and one shackled-up protester likened to a US counter-terrorist black site in a Guardian investigation published this week .

  • The disappeared: Chicago police detain Americans at abuse-laden ‘black site’

The Chicago police department operates an off-the-books interrogation compound, rendering Americans unable to be found by family or attorneys while locked inside what lawyers say is the domestic equivalent of a CIA black site.

The facility, a nondescript warehouse on Chicago’s west side known as Homan Square, has long been the scene of secretive work by special police units. Interviews with local attorneys and one protester who spent the better part of a day shackled in Homan Square describe operations that deny access to basic constitutional rights.

Alleged police practices at Homan Square, according to those familiar with the facility who spoke out to the Guardian after its investigation into Chicago police abuse, include:

    • Keeping arrestees out of official booking databases.
    • Beating by police, resulting in head wounds.
    • Shackling for prolonged periods.
    • Denying attorneys access to the “secure” facility.
    • Holding people without legal counsel for between 12 and 24 hours, including people as young as 15.

At least one man was found unresponsive in a Homan Square “interview room” and later pronounced dead.

  •

Chicago Police deny report of secret interrogation compound at Homan Square site

The massive Homan Square facility is a former Sears, Roebuck & Co. warehouse on the West Side. The building now houses the police department’s Organized Crime Bureau, the Evidence and Recovered Property Section, its ballistics lab and the SWAT unit.

“The secretive warehouse is the latest example of Chicago Police practices that echo the much-criticized detention abuses of the U.S. war on terrorism,” the Guardian reported.

But the existence of the building isn’t being kept under wraps by the police: The public is able to recover inventoried property from the evidence unit and news conferences are regularly held at Homan Square when the department shows off seized drugs.

And unlike other Chicago Police facilities over the years, no allegations of torture have been reported in the media in connection with Homan Square.

  • How Chicago police used marijuana to disappear young people at Homan Square

During the intervening hours, Freeman was lost to the outside world – denied, by police, any phone calls, attorney visits or a record of where he was. Shackled inside Homan Square, Freeman told the Guardian, as have 10 others, he was neither booked nor otherwise processed at a facility some have likened to the domestic equivalent of a CIA ‘black site’.

“Stephanie” encountered a similar circumstance in 2010. Even after police got all they needed from her, she recalled in interviews with the Guardian, they still cuffed her to a metal bar inside a cell at Homan Square for nearly half a day while other officers initially told her frantic siblings they didn’t know her whereabouts.

“I was so scared, I didn’t even know if I could see a lawyer. I assumed that wasn’t even an option, that whatever they say goes,” she said.

The 12-hour ordeal for Stephanie – who did not wish to speak on the record or use her real name for fear of jeopardizing her job prospects – took place after police found one ounce of marijuana in her car.

  • “Say ‘Lawyer’ All You Want Motherf****r” Detainees from Chicago’s Police “Black Site” Speak Out

It was discovered this week that the Chicago Police Department has been operating a secret “black site” facility on the city’s west side.

Inside a warehouse, Homan Square has long been the home to secretive police work. Attorneys as well as protesters, tell a tale of being systematically being denied their constitutional rights while being held.

In an eye-opening report, the Guardian blew the top right off of Pandora’s box, leaving the CPD and their media spin factory backpedaling.

Up until now, if you mentioned that the Chicago police took you to some unmarked warehouse and held you captive with no due process, people would think you were nuts. For this reason, all those who’ve been held in this repugnant secret prison, have been voiceless — until now.

The very night we reported on the Guardian’s discovery, we were contacted by one of CPD’s victims. He was held in this torturous black site not only without due process, but without food and water as well.

Another victim of Chicago’s terrorist apparatus took to Reddit to voice his experience of being inside. In his post, the man who wishes to remain anonymous for obvious reasons, spoke out about his experience inside. He was brought to Homan Square after six heavily armed police officers kicked in his door and kidnapped him for being in possession of a plant that is legal in other parts of the country.

He talks about only asking for his lawyer and not talking about anything else. He explains how this led to the staff of Homan Square replying, “you can say lawyer all you want motherf****r, you won’t see one until tomorrow.”

  • War and Emergency Powers Acts, Executive Orders and the New World Order

The Introduction to Senate Report 93-549 (93rd Congress, 1st Session, 1973) summarizes the situation that we face today – except it is far worse today than it was in 1973 !!

“A majority of the people of the United States have lived all of their lives under emergency rule. For 40 years [now 66 years], freedoms and governmental procedures guaranteed by the Constitution have, in varying degrees, been abridged by laws brought into force by states of national emergency. The problem of how a constitutional democracy reacts to great crises, however, far antedates the Great Depression. As a philosophical issue, its origins reach back to the Greek city-states and the Roman Republic. And, in the United States, actions taken by the Government in times of great crises have – from, at least, the Civil War – in important ways, shaped the present phenomenon of a permanent state of national emergency.
