  • Activists Respond to SOS Call on Facebook, Shut Down Armed Raid on Organic Farm

Among the many examples of state power run amok is when armed law enforcers descend on small farms to carry out a war on food freedom.

Last month, 20 officials from the ministries of agriculture, natural resources and finance in Ontario, Canada raided Michael Schmidt’s milk farm with the help of local police. They began removing equipment and computers, intending to confiscate them for the crime of providing raw milk to people who freely choose to drink it.

But then something awesome happened. Up to 50 members of Schmidt’s farming collective showed up and blocked the path of the officials, risking arrest to demand that the government leave Schmidt’s possessions and exit the property.

    And it worked.

“There was a complete standoff,” Schmidt said. “Finally the farmshare members negotiated a deal that everything stays here, and they’re leaving.”

Adding to the spectacular nature of this peaceful resistance is the fact that it started with a Facebook post that was put out when agents arrived at the farm.

At about 11:45 am, raw milk activist Liz Reitzig posted:

“URGENT: Michael Schmidt is getting raided right now! Agents are on the farm right now. Michael is requesting anyone who can please come to the farm immediately with video recording equipment.”

At 2:53 pm Schmidt posted on Facebook:

“Stand off. Nothing leaves the farm until we get the assurance that premier Wynn respects the right of people to drink their own milk.”

Then, at 4:30 pm, Reitzig posted:

“Update: Michael just texted that the equipment and products the agents confiscated were just unloaded from the trucks. The people have their products back! And no arrests so far. Super news!”

  • Radioactive honey found near nuclear power station
Honey contaminated with nuclear waste has been found near a disused power station in Scotland, scientists have confirmed, with samples of the product testing positive for “elevated” radioactivity.

The samples showed levels of radioactive caesium-137 that are 14 times higher than samples of honey from elsewhere in the UK, prompting scientists to call for an investigation into wider contamination at the site.

The plant, which closed in 1994, no longer produces nuclear energy. It is still in the process of being decommissioned, however.

Independent nuclear energy consultant John Large said bees are an important barometer of environmental health.

“Bees are key indicators of what is happening in the environment.

  • Debunked: Fukashima radiation reaches west coast
The recent reports of slightly higher than normal radiation levels on a beach in San Francisco have been investigated by geigercounter.com, and they found that it’s naturally occurring radioactive material, like granite. It’s demonstrably not from Fukushima, because it has a different signature.

  • Canadian researcher targeted by hate campaign over Fukushima findings
Jay Cullen never expected the world of hate he encountered when he began to post scientific information about the impact of the Fukushima accident on the Pacific Ocean.

Criticism was anticipated – but then he started getting death threats.

After the Japanese nuclear reactor melted down in 2011, following an earthquake and tsunami, fears arose that radiation would pollute the Pacific and spread to Canada’s West Coast.

To address those concerns, which didn’t go away even after ocean scientists reported relatively low levels, Dr. Cullen started a radionuclide-monitoring program in 2014.

The Integrated Fukushima Ocean Radionuclide Monitoring project (or InFORM, as he optimistically called it) worked with a broad network of scientists to gather the latest research and distribute it to the public.

“The goal and motivation … was that people were asking me, family and friends and the public at large, what the impact of the disaster was on B.C. on the North Pacific and on Canada,” he said. “I started looking for quality monitoring information so I could answer those questions as honestly and accurately as I could.”

Dr. Cullen thought the public would appreciate knowing what the scientists knew.

Shortly after he began blogging about the findings, which showed just about zero risk to the environment and to the public in North America, he became the target of a hate campaign. The attacks went far beyond fair criticism. He was not only called a “shill for the nuclear industry” and a “sham scientist” but he was told he and other researchers who were reporting that the Fukushima radiation wasn’t a threat deserved to be executed.

  • France ends law banning blood donation from gay men

France has decided to end a more than 30-year-old law that banned gay men from donating blood, a measure originally put in place to stop the spread of diseases such as HIV.

Health Minister Marisol Touraine said on Wednesday discrimination against potential blood donors on the basis of sexual orientation was unacceptable because it presumed that gay men all had HIV.

After a review of the measure since 2012, Touraine opted to lift the exclusion that has been in place since 1983 and was subsequently reinforced three times.

“Giving blood is a generous act that cannot be conditioned by sexual orientation,” Touraine said in a speech dedicated to the issue.

Infallible Global Money Laundering

  • Vatican Inspectors Suspect Key Office Was Used for Money Laundering

  • Yes, the pope has a police force. Here’s how the Vatican lays down the law.

Technically,  Vatican City is an independent sovereign state. However, it’s far from an ordinary one. A walled enclave in the Italian capital of Rome, the Vatican occupies just 110 acres — a geographical size that makes it the smallest state in the world. Last year, its population was estimated to be 842. And this tiny state happens to be the geographical center of the Roman Catholic Church, one of the oldest religious institutions in the world and the largest denomination of the Christian faith, with more than 1.25 billion members worldwide.

So, in a state as unusual as this, how is criminal justice handled?

That’s a pertinent question this week, after the Vatican announced Monday that it had arrested two members of a papal reform commission on suspicion of leaking classified information. The arrest of Spanish priest  Lucio Angel Vallejo Balda and Italian public relations executive Francesca Chaouqui appeared to be linked to the release of two upcoming books that threatened to contain revelations about alleged fraud and mismanagement in the Catholic church.

Conspiracy theorists of the world, believers in the hidden hands of the Rothschilds and the Masons and the Illuminati, we skeptics owe you an apology. You were right. The players may be a little different, but your basic premise is correct: The world is a rigged game. We found this out in recent months, when a series of related corruption stories spilled out of the financial sector, suggesting the world’s largest banks may be fixing the prices of, well, just about everything.

UN-settling UN-science

  • Arctic snow not darkening due to soot, dust, study find

For millennia, Greenland’s ice sheet reflected sunlight back into space, but satellite measurements in recent years suggest the bright surface is darkening, causing solar heat to be absorbed and surface melting to accelerate. Some studies suggest this “dirty ice” or “dark snow” is caused by fallout from fossil fuel pollution and forest fires.

But a new Dartmouth-led study shows that degrading satellite sensors, not soot or dust, are responsible for the apparent decline in of inland across northern Greenland. The study’s results suggest the ice sheet hasn’t lost as much reflectivity as previously thought, and that black carbon and dust concentrations haven’t increased significantly and are thus not responsible for darkening on the upper ice sheet.

The Costs

  • France’s top weatherman sparks storm over book questioning climate change

Every night, France’s chief weatherman has told the nation how much wind, sun or rain they can expect the following day.

Now Philippe Verdier, a household name for his nightly forecasts on France 2, has been taken off air after a more controversial announcement – criticising the world’s top climate change experts.

Mr Verdier claims in the book Climat Investigation (Climate Investigation) that leading climatologists and political leaders have “taken the world hostage” with misleading data.

In a promotional video, Mr Verdier said: “Every night I address five million French people to talk to you about the wind, the clouds and the sun. And yet there is something important, very important that I haven’t been able to tell you, because it’s neither the time nor the place to do so.”

He added: “We are hostage to a planetary scandal over climate change – a war machine whose aim is to keep us in fear.”

His outspoken views led France 2 to take him off the air starting this Monday. “I received a letter telling me not to come. I’m in shock,” he told RTL radio. “This is a direct extension of what I say in my book, namely that any contrary views must be eliminated.”

The book has been released at a particularly sensitive moment as Paris is due to host a crucial UN climate change conference in December.

  • Teacher/Mother Resigns From School Over Testing Concerns. She Posts Her Open Letter Resignation On Facebook.

On June 8, 2015, early childhood education teacher Wendy Bradshaw, gave birth to her daughter. Having your first child really changes your life forever, and makes you re-evaluate your priorities. Wendy had a wakeup call as she imagined her newborn growing and going to kindergarten for the first time.  Instead of daydreaming and feeling joyful, a feeling of sheer dread came over her.

Wendy had achieved her Masters and Ph.D in early childhood education beyond her teaching degree.  She took her role as teacher and curriculum developer very seriously, continually updating herself  on recent research on children’s needs in education.  She worked closely with her students and their parents over the years to individualize learning to each child’s abilities and temperament.

As she sat with her newborn in her arms she thought about what had happened to her ability to tailor her teaching to children’s needs.  The methods of evaluation that had become so strictly standardized in upper grades, had trickled as far down as pre-school, making assessment rather than actual learning the goal.  Her young students had grown more frustrated, and emotionally overwrought as teaching plans overlooked their developmental levels.

Reflecting on her work in Florida’s Polk County elementary school, and how upset she felt at the thought of her own child being subjected to such awful teaching methods, led Wendy to send her letter of resignation.  In this letter she delineated in great detail, her distress with what had become of the educational system and her reasons for resigning.  She posted the letter on Facebook, which has since been shared more than 50,000 times.  After reading it click the video below to hear Wendy Bradshaw discuss her feelings and thoughts about her deep dissatisfaction with the state of education in our country today.  You will see why this went viral. The letter reads:

Denial Is Not A River

  • White House releases plan to deal with space weather threat

Space weather, which can disrupt satellites, stifle communications networks and paralyze the electric power grid, is getting some special scrutiny from the Obama administration.

The White House announced a new strategy Thursday to identify and respond to interstellar phenomena such as solar flares that pose a looming threat to national security and the global economy.

  • Syrian Invasion Planned Since 2012 – ‘No Boots on Ground’ a Lie from the Start

The mainstream media continues its job as Praetorian Guard by consuming the airways with whether Obama’s putting troops in Syria really means “boots on the ground.” The drama centers on the status of their vaunted Special Forces, which enjoy greater discretion in murdering people and, it seems, don’t wear real boots.

The increasing U.S. intervention in Syria, through overt and covert means, is playing out a well-known strategy of those in the business of global hegemony—one known as the Hegelian Dialectic.

We now appear to be starting the “solution phase” of a Problem-Reaction-Solution method used for many goals of the State. Here it serves to exert control over foreign lands through death and destruction. Create the problem, stoke the reaction, and provide the solution.

The path to a “solution” was no accident, and the solution being brought to Syria—courtesy of bombs, bullets and now boots on the ground—was years in the making.

One of the most important advisory organizations to the U.S. government, the Brookings Institution, described how events can be manipulated to result in military involvement. This would enable the creation of “buffer zones,” a key move in the modern pursuit of conquest.

In 2012, the Brookings Institution wrote in Assessing Options for Regime Change:

“An alternative is for diplomatic efforts to focus first on how to end the violence and how to gain humanitarian access… This may lead to the creation of safe-havens and humanitarian corridors, which would have to be backed by limited military power. This would, of course, fall short of U.S. goals for Syria and could preserve Asad in power. From that starting point, however, it is possible that a broad coalition with the appropriate international mandate could add further coercive action to its efforts.

The first step in gaining control of Syria—or causing its division and destruction—is to create buffer zones or “safe havens,” which Brookings and others have long called for. The insertion of Special Forces in addition to air campaigns accomplishes this.

Casualties & Causalities of Global War

  • Russian passenger jet crash: Black boxes analyzed, show no sign of system failure Live updates

    07 November 2015

    23:11 GMT

All of the systems of the crashed Russian A321 plane had been working normally before its black box records abruptly ended, the Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC) announced after conducting an official preliminary analysis of the tapes.

The IAC analyzed the copied and deciphered information from both the flight data recorder (FDR) and the cockpit voice recorder (CVR) of the plane.

Wednesday brought a veritable smorgasbord of “new” information about the Russian passenger jet which fell out of the sky above the Sinai Peninsula last weekend.

First there was an audio recording from ISIS’ Egyptian affiliate reiterating that they did indeed “down” the plane. Next, the ISIS home office in Raqqa (or Langley or Hollywood) released a video of five guys sitting in the front yard congratulating their Egyptian “brothers” on the accomplishment.

  • Cargo plane crashes along Nile in South Sudan, killing 36

A cargo plane carrying an added load of unregistered people crashed Wednesday morning along the banks of the Nile River after taking off from South Sudan’s capital of Juba. The crash killed 36 people and left an infant clinging to life, South Sudan authorities said.

The Soviet-made Antonov plane, which had been bound for the Paloich oil fields in Upper Nile state, was registered in Tajikistan and belonged to Allied Services Limited, said Ateny Wek Ateny, a spokesman for South Sudanese President Salva Kiir.

  • South Sudan rivals boosting weapons stockpiles: U.N. experts

Warring parties in South Sudan are expanding stockpiles of weapons and ammunition in violation of an August peace deal and President Salva Kiir risks fueling violence with plans to almost triple the number of states in the country, said United Nations experts.

In a report to the U.N. Security Council, seen by Reuters on Wednesday, the experts said they were examining the flow of arms into South Sudan and had “credible, independent” reports that both the government and opposition were boosting their supplies.

The experts, who monitor U.N. sanctions on South Sudan, said they would provide details shortly. The 15-member Security Council warned in August it was ready to impose an arms embargo on the country if the peace agreement collapsed.

  • Israel–South Sudan relations

    Economic ties

Israel has offered economic help[vague] to South Sudan.[2][3] IsraAid helped South Sudan set up its Ministry of Social Development.[8] Israel and South Sudan engaged in their first official agreement in July 2012, when Israel Military Industries signed a pact to cooperate on water infrastructure and technology development. The agreement outlined plans for cooperation between Israel and South Sudan on desalination, irrigation, water transport, and purification. Israel’s Energy and Water Minister Uzi Landau his South Sudanese counterpart Water and Irrigation Ministe Akec Paul Mayom: “We see this as a privilege to be the first [sector in Israel] to sign an agreement with the new state.”[9]

  • ‘South Tel Aviv is South Sudan now’

At 70 years old, Sophie Menashe says the State of Israel has abandoned her.

A member of the Bnei Israel, a historic group of Indian Jews who hail primarily from Mumbai, Menashe immigrated to Israel with her family in 1953. In the 1970s, she and her husband purchased an apartment on the top floor of a building in south Tel Aviv, just steps from where the new Central Bus Station now stands. She still lives there, in a crumbling, rat-infested building, one of three remaining Jewish residents sharing space with nearly 100 African migrants.

Israel is now home to some 60,000 migrants from Africa, most of them Eritrean and Sudanese. The vast majority of them live in south Tel Aviv, specifically in a several-block radius around Tel Aviv’s Central Bus Station and Levinsky Park. As this group has come to south Tel Aviv, however, crime has spiked, with Israel Police reporting earlier this year that in 2012 there was a 53 percent increase in felonies by migrants in the area.

Menashe is bothered by the poverty around her, and by the crime and lawlessness that are poverty’s offspring. But like many Jewish residents of south Tel Aviv, she paints the decline of her neighborhood in broad, racially-tinged strokes, casually injecting terms into the conversation that to an average listener might sound like hate speech.

“South Tel Aviv is South Sudan now. It’s no longer Tel Aviv,” she says. “And I’m scared all the time.”
