  An internal Pentagon report made public on Wednesday revealed that the U.S. Department of Defense has been using unarmed drones to conduct surveillance missions over American soil since 2006.The Pentagon inspector general report, entitled “Evaluation of DoD Use of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) for Support to Civil Authorities,” obtained by USA Today through a Freedom of Information Act request, said that “less than 20” such missions occurred between 2006 and 2015, though they anticipate many more in the years to come.

  The Pentagon has deployed drones to spy over U.S. territory for non-military missions over the past decade, but the flights have been rare and lawful, according to a new report.The report by a Pentagon inspector general, made public under a Freedom of Information Act request, said spy drones on non-military missions have occurred fewer than 20 times between 2006 and 2015 and always in compliance with existing law.The report, which did not provide details on any of the domestic spying missions,  said the Pentagon takes the issue of military drones used on American soil “very seriously.”The Pentagon has publicly posted at least a partial list of the drone missions that have flown in non-military airspace over the United States and explains the use of the aircraft. The site lists nine missions flown between 2011 and 2016, largely to assist with search and rescue, floods, fires or National Guard exercises.  The list was not made public in the report. But a few examples were cited, including one case in which an unnamed mayor asked the Marine Corps to use a drone to find potholes in the mayor’s city. The Marines denied the request because obtaining the defense secretary’s “approval to conduct a UAS mission of this type did not make operational sense.”

  We are seeing an increasing number of academic studies analyzing the psychology behind “conspiracy theorists” and those who question government propaganda. The idea being that people who don’t trust government may be mentally ill.
  These analyses are published in prominent publications in the UK and are building a “scientific” literature revolving psychological dysfunction and “conspiracy theory.”

• Apple Says FBI Could Force Company to Turn on iPhone Cameras & Microphones
  Eddy Cue, Apple’s head of services, warned Thursday that, if the FBI wins its case to force the company to unlock an iPhone 5C owned by the employer of a terrorist, it will force a precedent opening the door to indiscriminate domestic surveillance. Cue suggests that the case could give the FBI power to force companies to make users’ cameras and microphones accessible to government surveillance apparatus and anyone else who gains access to the code.

• What really happened at the Chicago rally – My Firsthand Account

  At 2:30 p.m., I arrived at the Donald Trump rally located at the UIC pavilion in Chicago, IL. There was light police presence at the Blue Line station, and the pavilion was short walk away. There I waited in line for about an hour until making it to the front doors, going through a security scanner, and finding a seat in the main hall.

  For nearly two hours the pavilion filled until it neared capacity. It was clear that protesters were seated around the room, given easily away by their manner of dress. Most of the Trump supporters, being suburbanite or small town white people from outside of Chicago, were dressed strikingly normal—jeans and t-shirts, yoga pants or dresses, and the occasional suit.

  The first protestors began around 5:30 when two young white males pulled off their coats to reveal t-shirts with anti-Trump slogans. At this point I noticed the police presence inside the rally was a mere 8 police officers, bolstered with hands-off event staff.

  Before 6:00 p.m., a man spoke on the microphone and requested that rally attendees do not touch or harm protesters who interrupt the event. He reminded the protesters that Donald Trump supports the first amendment as much as the second.

  Following this was a string of smaller incidents, such as people holding up improvised signs and shouting.

  • One entire bleacher row was filled with protesters and they began chanting and throwing around torn up signs.
  • A few people who began standing up and screaming, and were slowly escorted out by police. The police kept leaving the protesters unattended throughout this, taking 4-8 officers to escort protesters out one at a time.
  • A black man in a black jacket ran up to the front stage, bumped into the podium, and attempted to speak, but was wrestled down by two men in suits. As they escorted him through the crowd, he took a swing at a Trump supporter. The men escorting him were incredibly gentle and restrained themselves from using any force.

  Then voice came on and declared that the event was postponed. A few minutes later, they informed us that Trump had landed in Chicago and spoken to Chicago Police officers, and that due to safety concerns, the rally was canceled.

  At this point, the protesters began to descend into chaos.

  The United States of America is a land of laws, and Americans value the rule of law above all. Why, then, has our Congress allowed the president and the executive branch to take on near-dictatorial power? How is it that we have a president who will not enforce some laws and who encourages faceless, nameless bureaucrats to manage public lands as if the millions of acres were owned by agencies such as the Bureau of Land Management and the Department of Energy? In Nevada, the lack of enforcement of immigration laws and the draconian rule of the BLM are damaging the economy, lowering the standard of living and inhibiting natural economic growth. The only way to change these circumstances is to bring to Washington a president who will rein in the federal government and get Congress to do its job. It’s not that we don’t have talented people in D.C. It’s that we have no leadership there.

• The Assassination of Martin Luther King Ruled in Court as “Government Conspiracy to Kill”

  A verdict that you may never have heard of before is the exoneration of James Earl Ray in the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., in 1999. The civil trial King v. Jowers went for 30 days; and in only 59 minutes of deliberation, the jury found the original case incorrect, and a Memphis PD Officer Loyd Jowers had been complicit in the conspiracy to assassinate Dr. King.

  The court case never received much media attention. In 1993, the lead up to the consideration of the trial by the King family; Jowers appeared on Prime Time Live on the ABC confessing publicly that he played a role in the assassination, and naming Lt. Earl Clark from the Memphis Police Department as the one who fired the shot that killed Dr. King.

  The lead up to the assassination, and on the day before, saw MLK’s security detail removed.

  Inspector Don H. Smith was responsible for the request to remove the security. Also removed were a black Memphis PD detective Ed Redditt, and two black firemen from a nearby station, who were known to Dr. King.

   

   

• “This evidence will shock the conscience”: LaVoy Finicum’s Widow to File Wrongful Death Suit

  LaVoy’s widow Jeanette Finicum has announced she will be filing a wrongful death lawsuit against Oregon authorities in the shooting death of her husband.

  At a press conference, Mrs. Finicum said she and her family “reject the biased, whitewashed findings and conclusion reported yesterday,” and that her legal team has proof the roadblock was a set up.

  She also says the agents released a selectively edited video to make it appear as if her husband is reaching for a gun, when in reality he was walking away from his truck with his hands in the air the first time he was shot. Again, all of the gunshot wounds Finicum suffered were found to be in his back.

  “I believe, my family believes, my lawyers believe that this evidence will ‘shock the conscience,” she said…

  Her view of the video evidence is the same one many of us reported after the shooting happened — that he wasn’t going for a gun but was reaching for a wound where he was hit:

  “A man to the right of the video obviously fired some projectile at him.Immediately he leaned over to his left hip area where it appeared some projectile hit him,” Finicum said.

  She said investigators left him in the snow for 10 minutes because they knew the three shots into the back killed him.

  The DOJ is currently investigating the case even though the U.S. Attorney for the District of Utah already concluded the shooting was “justified”. Why? Because even though the six shots fired by the Oregon State Police, three of which hit Finicum in the back and killed him, where ruled “justified,” two rounds fired off by the FBI and apparently covered up before finally being admitted to, were not.

  Mrs. Finicum also said recently released video from inside the car shot by Shawna Cox at the time Finicum was killed proves the whole thing could’ve ended peacefully and law enforcement did not have to kill her husband.

• Cliven Bundy refuses to enter plea, recognize US authority in Nevada courtroom
  ailed Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy refused Thursday to acknowledge federal authority and declined to enter a plea to federal charges that he led an armed standoff against a round-up of cattle two years ago.
  After several minutes of confusion about whether Bundy had a lawyer, U.S. Magistrate Judge Carl Hoffman entered a not guilty plea on Bundy’s behalf and scheduled a detention hearing March 17.”I make no plea before this court,” Bundy said, standing in a courtroom full of family members, friends, media, court officials and U.S. marshals.Bundy wore a maroon-colored Henderson city jail uniform, with his ankles shackled and his hands free during the 15-minute hearing. He waved before the hearing to his wife, Carol Bundy, and several adult children and supporters among about 40 people in the courtroom audience.Joel Hansen, a Nevada attorney who has represented property rights advocates in a number of cases in the state, served as Bundy’s attorney. But Hansen told the judge that Bundy plans to get another lawyer for trial.Hansen said Bundy’s refusal to enter a plea was a statement that he couldn’t have done anything wrong because federal law doesn’t apply.

• Judge denies bail for New Hampshire man in Bundy Nevada standoff

  A judge has denied bail for a New Hampshire man accused of being a mid-level organizer in a high-profile 2014 armed standoff with federal agents at the Nevada ranch of Cliven Bundy.

  Jerry DeLemus was ordered on Tuesday to remain jailed pending trial in connection with the standoff, which began when federal agents seized cattle at the ranch over unpaid grazing fees. The incident came to symbolize opposition to federal management of public lands in the West.

  Nineteen people have been indicted in the case, including Bundy and two of his sons, who face charges that include assault on a federal agent, threatening a law enforcement officer, conspiracy and firearms violations.

  In denying bail, U.S. District Court Judge Andrea Johnstone said DeLemus’ actions at the Bundy ranch indicated he could “pose a serious danger to the community if released.”

  DeLemus’ attorney, Jonathan Saxe, had argued that while DeLemus held right-wing political beliefs, he was law-abiding and devoutly religious and had sought to bring a peaceful resolution to the standoff.

• FPL nuclear plant canals leaking into Biscayne Bay, study confirms
  A radioactive isotope linked to water from power plant cooling canals has been found in high levels in Biscayne Bay, confirming suspicions that Turkey Point’s aging canals are leaking into the nearby national park.

   

• Turkey Point Nuclear Plant Is Pumping Polluted Water Into Biscayne Bay
  As Florida Power & Light finalized plans to expand its nuclear reactors at Turkey Point three years ago, critics were aghast. The nuclear plant already stands on environmentally fragile land, and upping the power production would seriously threaten the ecosystem, they argued.
  Turns out they may have been right. This morning, the county released the results of a study into whether Turkey Point has been leaking dangerous wastewater into Biscayne Bay. County water monitors found more than 200 times the normal levels of tritium, a radioactive isotope linked to nuclear power production, in the bay water, a finding environmentalists say justifies their concerns.
  “This is one of several things we were very worried about,” says South Miami Mayor Philip Stoddard, who is also a biological sciences professor at Florida International University. “You would have to work hard to find a worse place to put a nuclear plant, right between two national parks and subject to hurricanes and storm surge.”

• Fukushima radiation plumes have now struck the Carolinas and Florida, say reports
  Several nuclear power plants in the southeastern US have begun to detect low levels of radioactive iodine-131 in the air, which is the same type of radiation now being found all over the place as a result of the mega-earthquake and tsunami that struck the Fukushima Daiichi power plant in Japan on March 11, 2011. Reuters has indicated that power plants in both North and South Carolina, as well as one in Florida, have all detected what they say are “low levels” of the non-native radioactive substance.

  Several comparisons can be drawn between the American Dust Bowl of the 1930’s and the recent plight of the Indian River Lagoon on Florida’s east coast.
  Both ecological disasters followed a boom-and-bust economic cycle, suffered the over-grazing of natural grasses, and had a perfect storm of meteorological bad luck combined with human causes.
  Two events marked the decimation of the Lagoon’s environment. First, there was the loss of over 60% of seagrass coverage from 2009 through 2012. Second, there was the Indian River Lagoon Algae Superbloom that lasted from April 2011 through March 2012. Both events were extraordinary because no events of that scale had ever been recorded in the Lagoon’s history.
  Those extraordinary events were followed by an unusually high number of manatee deaths beginning in 2012 and continuing throughout 2013. Unusually high dolphin and pelican deaths were also recorded during 2013.
  Despite those events being historically extraordinary statistical outliers, many environmentalists blamed the Lagoon’s demise on causes that have otherwise remained constant (or even dropped) such as fertilizers, sewage, muck, grass clippings, runoff, pet waste, and even global warming.Fukushima Radiation Fallout In Florida and the Indian River Lagoon Superbloom of 2011Following the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant disaster on March 11, 2011, radioactive fission product material began to spread across the globe.  As seen in this time lapse video map of Fukushima radiation distribution across the world, Florida had the meteorological bad luck of being under a concentrated atmospheric radioactive “swirl” from the second half of March through April 2011.  As a result, Melbourne, Florida in Brevard County recorded the highest single day concentration of Iodine-131 of anywhere in the world, according to measurements taken by the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty Organization.  Xenon and Cesium were also detected in Melbourne.  Additionally, Cesium-134, 136 and 137; Iodine-131 and 132; and Tellurium-129m and 132 were detected by air filters in nearby Orlando, Florida.  North of the Indian River Lagoon, Cesium-134 and Iodine-131 were detected in rainfall in Jacksonville, Florida.   While the radioactive material was overhead and falling onto Florida, severe weather with strong winds, waterspouts, hail, and heavy rainfall fell over east Central Florida during the last few days of March.

  Widespread Wind Damage from Squall Line 03-30-11 

  A low pressure center was developing near the central Gulf coast early in the day and moved east along the Florida Gulf coast. A robust convective complex developed over the eastern Gulf to the south of the low and pushed a squall line across the peninsula. Widespread reports of wind damage along with hail up to two inches in diameter were reported across east central Florida during the late afternoon and early evening hours.  The highest wind gusts were from Orlando Executive Airport with 74 mph, and a Kennedy Space Center wind tower (at 54 feet) with 85 mph. In addition to the two inch diameter hail in southern Brevard county, several addtional hail reports were received, a few with diameters the size of a quarter.

• St. Lucie Nuclear Power Plant
  St. Lucie Nuclear Power Plant is a twin nuclear power station located on Hutchinson Island, near Port St. Lucie in St. Lucie County. Both units are Combustion Engineering pressurized water reactors. Florida Power & Light commissioned the station in 1976 and continues to operate the station. Minor shares of Unit 2 are owned by the Florida Municipal Power Agency (8.81%) and the Orlando Utilities Commission (6.08%).^{[citation needed]}The plant contains two nuclear reactors in separate containment buildings. However, the plant does not have the classic hyperboloid cooling towers found at many inland reactor sites; instead, it uses nearby ocean water for coolant of the secondary system.In 2003 the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) extended the operating licenses of the St. Lucie units by twenty years, to March 1, 2036 for Unit 1 and April 6, 2043 for Unit 2.

• Hackers Claim John McCain Knew ISIS Execution Videos Were Staged
  In a rather stunning note, CyberBerkut, a Ukrainian group of hackers, claims to have hacked John McCain’s laptop while he was in the Ukraine, and as Techworm reports, what they have released from his June visit appears to be a fully staged production of an ISIS execution video…As Techworm reports, according to the hackers, they broke into the laptop of one of the American politicians, Senator McCain and after found a video with staged IS execution, which they decided to show to the world community.It so happened that Senator John McCain had visited Ukraine on a official visit somewhere in the first week of June 2015. The hacktivists belonging to CyberBerkut somehow managed to access his laptop.

  A group of Russian hackers called Cyber Berkut have released a video showing a staged ISIS beheading, hacked from an electronic device from one of the staff of U.S. Senator John McCain. The fake ISIS execution appears to take place inside a film studio and shows a ‘prisoner’ (played by an actor) going through the motions of being ‘executed’ in front of several video cameras.Another actor is dressed as an ISIS executioner who puts a knife to the throat of the prisoner and goes through the motions of cutting him.

• Turkey Receives $6.6 Billion EU Bribe to Hold Back Refugees
  It’s supposed to be part of a groundbreaking deal to end the refugee crisis in Europe. But while EU politicians and bureaucrats throw billions of dollars to their Turkish “partner”, the simple question remains unanswered: who created this crisis in the first place?It’s also bitterly hilarious that while EU governments order their citizens to endure economic austerity and cuts to workers’ rights, the same authorities can suddenly find, with ease, endless cash to pander Turkey’s authoritarian regime with.Four months ago, the Ankara regime of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan squeezed the EU for a promise of $3.3 billion in financial aid, allegedly to slow down the flow of refugees from Turkey to Europe.   As part of the “deal” hatched this week in Brussels between EU leaders and Ankara, all “irregular migrants” currently languishing in Greece – some 30,000 – are to be forcibly returned to Turkey.

  Just two months ago, former Fed President Dick Fisher admitted that “The Fed front-loaded an enormous market rally in order to create a wealth effect.” Today he is back, taking a victory lap onthe 7th anniversary of the crisis lows by explaining, rather stunningly, to CNBC that “we injected cocaine and heroin into the system” to enable a wealth effect (that he admits did not work, despite its success in raising asset prices), and “now we are maintaining it with ritalin.” Fisher also confirmed his previous warning that “The Fed is a giant weapon that has no ammunition left.”Fisher explains how The Fed achieved its goals… but admits that didn’t really fix anything…

• China’s Mass Unemployment Wave Begins: Six Million Workers To Get Pink Slips
  Back in November, just as the world’s attention was focusing on China for long-overdue reasons including a slowing economy, debt at well over 300% of GDP, an artificially high exchange rate whose devaluation is causing market shockwaves around the globe, a reflating housing bubble, a burst stock market bubble and non-performing loans, as high as 20%, when we pointed out the one “most under-reported” risk virtually nobody was talking about: Chinese employment.

  … one risk, perhaps the biggest one, which has so far flown deep under the radar, is also the biggest one – which may explain why so few have noticed it – namely social discontent, resulting from a breakdown in recent “agreeable” labor conditions, wage cuts and rising unemployment, leading to labor strikes and in some cases, violence.

  We then pointed out a disturbing indicator: the number of labor strikes in China, as a result of deteriorating labor conditions, sliding wages and surging unemployment, had become exponential.
