- Serious Bug Exposes Sensitive Data From Millions Sites Sitting Behind CloudFlare
A severe security vulnerability has been discovered in the CloudFlare content delivery network that has caused big-name websites to expose private session keys and other sensitive data.
CloudFlare, a content delivery network (CDN) and web security provider that helps optimize safety and performance of over 5.5 Million websites on the Internet, is warning its customers of the critical bug that could have exposed a range of sensitive information, including passwords, and cookies and tokens used to authenticate users.
Dubbed Cloudbleed, the nasty flaw is named after the Heartbleed bug that was discovered in 2014, but believed to be worse than Heartbleed.
The vulnerability is so severe that it not only affects websites on the CloudFlare network but affects mobile apps as well. “I’m finding private messages from major dating sites, full messages from a well-known chat service, online password manager data, frames from adult video sites, hotel bookings,” Ormandy wrote in a blog post that was also published Thursday. “We’re talking full HTTPS requests, client IP addresses, full responses, cookies, passwords, keys, data, everything.”
- Spicer hints at tighter pot enforcement
White House spokesman Sean Spicer suggested Thursday that the Justice Department is going to crack down on states that legalized recreational use of marijuana.
“I do believe you will see greater enforcement of it,” Spicer said during his press briefing. Spicer declined to elaborate, directing questions to the Department of Justice.
Spicer did say that there is a difference between medical marijuana, legal in more than 20 states, and recreational use laws in eight states. Four of those states legalized recreational use in the November elections.
“There is a big difference between medical marijuana, which in the states that were allowed have set forth a process to administer and regulate that usage versus recreational,” he said.
- Unmarked assault rifle sales land CNC-mill gunsmith in prison
Americans can legally manufacture an assault rifle for personal use without registering it, so Daniel Crowninshield figured his paying customers could push the button to start his milling equipment and claim they made the AR-15 themselves. Feds disagreed.
Crowninshield, aka Dr-Death, would legally sell unregistered metal components called “blanks.” He would then invite customers to modify the blanks at C&G Tool in North Sacramento. After he got it all set up, he would have the customers push the buttons to start the milling process. Per DOJ:
Generally, the manufacturing at C&G Tool would proceed as follows: prospective gun buyers would purchase an AR-15 blank and take it to C&G Tool where a skilled machinist would mill the blank into an AR-15 lower receiver. According to federal law, a person may manufacture a firearm for personal use without including a serial number on the firearm, provided that the firearm is not sold or transferred to another person. Otherwise, to manufacture a firearm requires a license from ATF, and a firearm that is transferred to another person must bear a serial number. According to court documents, in order to create the pretext that C&G customers were building their own firearms, the skilled machinist would have the customer press a button or put his or her hands on a piece of machinery so that the customer could claim that the customer, rather than the machinist, made the firearm.
- Maryland’s military weapons ban upheld by federal appeals court
Maryland’s ban on semiautomatic and military-style weapons has been upheld by the 4th Circuit US Court of Appeals in a 10-4 ruling. The decision not only protects the state’s gun control laws, but also similar ones in California, Connecticut and New Jersey.
Laws against assault weapons and large-capacity magazines in Maryland were upheld on Tuesday when a Court of Appeals overturned a previous ruling on the ban. While the 4th Circuit Court in Richmond, Virginia ruled strongly in favor of the ban, the four dissenting judges believed that their counterparts had undermined the Second Amendment.
Dissenting Judge William B. Traxler Jr. claimed his colleagues have “gone to greater lengths than any other court to eviscerate the constitutionally guaranteed right to keep and bear arms.” However, the court ruled that “we have no power to extend Second Amendment protections to weapons of war.” Judge Robert B. King wrote that weapons of war are most useful in the military and the previous Supreme Court ruling on District of Columbia vs. Heller excluded these kinds of weapons from being protected by the Second Amendment.
“We have no power to extend Second Amendment protection to the weapons of war that the Heller decision explicitly excluded from such coverage,” King wrote.
Judge J. Harvie Wilkinson III, who concurred with King, focused on the state’s responsibility to protect their citizens, writing, “it is their community, not ours. It is their safety not ours. It is their lives, not ours.”
Nuclear Fear Porn
- FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE? Dangerous radioactive particles have been detected across Europe and no-one knows where they came from
DANGEROUS radioactive particles have been detected in seven different European countries and scientists can’t explain where they have come from.
Traces of Iodine-131 were found in Norway, Finland, Poland, Czech Republic, Germany, France and Spain in January, but the public were not immediately alerted.
These radioactive particles are produced by atomic bomb explosions or nuclear disasters such as Chernobyl or Fukushima.
They appear to be emanating from Eastern Europe, but experts have not been able to say exactly what produced them.
Astrid Liland, head of emergency preparedness at the Norwegian Radiation Protection Authority, told the Barents Observer that the health risk was very low – which was why she did not raise the alarm after detecting Iodine-131 during the second week of January. “We do measure small amounts of radioactivity in air from time to time because we have very sensitive measuring equipment,” she said.
“The measurements at Svanhovd in January were very, very low. So were the measurements made in neighbouring countries, like Finland. The levels raise no concern for humans or the environment. Therefore, we believe this had no news value.”
However, she was unable to say where the particles have come from.
They may have been released by accident by a nuclear reactor or a medical facility where they are being used to treat hyperthyroidism and thyroid cancer.
The particles could also been produced by Russian nuclear submarines.
- Mysterious radioactive cloud moves towards UK as plane which tackled Chernobyl called in to find source
The WC-135 Constant Phoenix, which is specially modified to collect atmospheric samples, flew out of RAF Mildenhall on a mission to find evidence of nuclear activity or explosion, according to strong rumours.
Specialist equipment enables the crew to detect radioactive debris ‘clouds’ in real time – after such a cloud was believed to be heading towards northern Europe and the Barents Sea.
The WC-135 Constant Phoenix, which is known as a nuclear ‘sniffer’ plane, was deployed to Britain last week on an undisclosed mission.
Air quality stations in Norway, Finland, Poland, Czech Republic, Germany, France and Spain have detected the presence of Iodine-131 at low levels. This has fuelled speculation that the WC-135 has been called in to investigate the cause of the higher-than-normal levels of Iodine-131.
The spike has sparked speculation that Russian president Vladimir Putin is testing nuclear weapons in Novaya Zemlya near the Arctic. However, the CTBTO (Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organisation) ruled out a nuclear test had recently taken place.
Similar aircraft were used in the wake of the Chernobyl nuclear plant disaster in the Soviet Union in 1986 and the Fukushima incident in Japan six years ago by collecting particles and chemical substances in the atmosphere, days, weeks and months after they were dispersed. The deployment of the WC-135 aircraft, which detects and identifies explosions from the air and was used after the Chernobyl disaster in the Soviet Ukraine in 1986, adds weight to the argument.
This movement led the Norwegian Radiation Protection Authority (NRPA) to suggest the particles may have originated in Eastern Europe. It’s possible that the particles could have come from an incident at a nuclear reactor.
The compounds may also have also come from an Iodine plant. Iodine-131 has a very short half life of just eight days, making it very radioactive. When it is present in high levels in the environment, it contaminates food. After it is swallowed it will accumulate in the thyroid. As it decays, it damages body tissue and can cause thyroid cancer. However levels present in the atmosphere today are too low to be damaging.
Gates “Global Health” Threatening
- Bill Gates: Bioterrorism could kill more than nuclear war — but no one is ready to deal with it
A genetically engineered virus is easier to make and could kill more people than nuclear weapons — and yet no country on Earth is ready for the threat, Bill Gates warned world leaders Saturday.
No one on his panel at the Munich Security Conference argued with him.
“The next epidemic has a good chance of originating on a computer screen,” said Gates, who made a fortune at Microsoft, then spent much of it fighting disease through his global foundation.
Whether “by the work of nature or the hands of a terrorist,” Gates said, an outbreak could kill tens of millions in the near future unless governments begin “to prepare for these epidemics the same way we prepare for war.”
His co-panelists shared some of the same fears.
“Disease and violence are killing fewer people than ever before, but it’s spreading more quickly,” said Erna Solberg, the prime minister of Norway. “We have forgotten how catastrophic those epidemics have been.”
She recalled the Black Death, which she said killed more than half her country’s population and created a 200-year recession in Europe.
- Bill Gates Warns That A Devastating Pandemic Is Right Around The Corner
A pandemic is one of the world’s top three threats, and if not prepared for, could wipe out 30 million people in less than a year, philanthropist Bill Gates says.
Microsoft’s co-founder said at the Munich Security Conference in Germany Saturday that we’re due for an apocalyptic sickness on the scale of the 1918 flu, which killed some 50 million people. The global crisis could strike in the next 10-15 years if we’re not careful, Gates warned.
Bioterrorism has become feasible enough, he said, that a genetic engineer could use computers to create a synthetic airborne pathogen capable of wiping out a fraction of the world’s population quickly.
“The next epidemic could originate on the computer screen of a terrorist intent on using genetic engineering to create a synthetic version of the smallpox virus,” he said, “or a super contagious and deadly strain of the flu.”
But even if terrorists aren’t to blame, nature is likely to take its course.
“Whether it occurs by a quirk of nature or at the hand of a terrorist, epidemiologists say a fast-moving airborne pathogen could kill more than 30 million people in less than a year,” Gates said. “And they say there is a reasonable probability the world will experience such an outbreak in the next 10 to 15 years.”
Gates, who has been working to improve global health for 20 years, has long warned of such an outbreak, but the bio-terrorism angle appears to have sped up the “Doomsday Clock,” a symbolic warning of the likelihood of a global catastrophe.
- Bill Gates – population reduction and zero CO2 (same thing)
(Interactive transcript to the right of the video). Gates starts off by pushing the scientifically discredited propaganda about climate change and how it’s going to lead to disaster.
Then he complains about how energy has become too cheap, so there needs to be a new constraint because of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, which is alleged to be emitted in unnatural amounts by human activities, and to be trapping heat in the earth’s atmosphere.
But actually it’s essential for plant life and is emitted when we breath and when we burn necessary fuel to keep our lives, homes and businesses running, and it’s necessary for the manufacture of the products we use to stay alive and healthy – all of them.
The idea is that supposedly human beings emit too much CO2, but there is no way that we emit more than the volcanoes, oceans, forests and decaying plant and animal life on this planet.
Some people – besides the perps – actually know the real reason for the “humans cause climate change” agenda. This whole idea is just a tool of globalist revolutionaries who work for the international banks. It is fabricated as a way to reach the end goal of a controlled world society, controlled through the imposition of energy credits or carbon credits so that we have to pay just to be alive.
The First Global Revolution by the Club of Rome spells out the reason for why the globalists use fears such as climate change, food shortages etc. They want a common “enemy” to “unite” mankind under a single system of control. And they decided that the enemy is “humanity itself”. So we are told over and over that normal human activity is a threat, not out of control war-mongering governments and resource-stealing corporations, but normal behavior. And all they have to do is make us believe that our fellow human beings are an incredible danger to our survival, and we will all fall into line under the sway of a bunch of elitist scam artists, and do whatever we are told to do, and stomp on each others’ rights and freedoms.
- Average Life Expectancy to Rise Globally by 2030, but Not for US
A high-profile study released on Tuesday through the World Health Organization suggests that in a little more than a decade the average life expectancy at birth for some people may break the 90-year barrier.
According to research conducted jointly by Imperial College London and the World Health Organization, life expectancy in South Korea by the year 2030 will be 84.1 years for men, and over 90 years for women, a level that was considered unattainable only two decades ago. Ezzati believes that South Korean longevity is due to factors including good nutrition in childhood, low levels of smoking, low obesity rates, access to healthcare, and a willingness in the country to adopt new medical techniques.
Other high-income countries are not far behind South Korea, researchers say, as citizens in almost every developed nation are predicted to live longer.
The forecast is not so optimistic for the US. Research revealed that by 2030 Americans will have the lowest life expectancy among the high-income developed nations, with an average of 80 years for men, and 83 for women.
These figures are below those of Chile, and similar to those projected for such middle-income states as Mexico or Croatia. Researchers attribute these estimations to the absence of universal healthcare in the US.
Cannibalism To Be Cool
- Genetically-modified cows without horns are created to make the countryside safer
Gene-editing was used by scientists as The University of California, Davis, to remove the DNA responsible for horn growth in black-and-white Holsteins, a popular breed of cow.
Around five Britons a year are killed by cows on average making them the UK’s most deadly large animal.
In the US 25 people are killed by cows each year, of which 75 per cent are known to be deliberate attacks.
Many farmers saw cow horns off or burn them with a soldering iron to stop them from becoming too sharp as adults.
The researchers’ new genetic technique could provide a more humane way of removing horns.
Only a few species of cow do not grow horns such as the UK’s Hereford and Angus breeds.
Animal geneticist Dr Alison Van Eenennaam of UC Davis spliced the DNA of non-horned species with the DNA of horned species.
The experimental cows created by the researchers remain in quarantine for now. They were produced using a new gene-editing technique known as CRISPR.
CRISPR has transformed genetic engineering since it was first demonstrated in 2012.
The system allows the ‘cut and paste’ manipulation of strands of DNA with a precision not seen before.
The California researchers compare their genetic modification methods to that of selective breeding.
Thanks to improvements made in the dairy industry through traditional breeding, a glass of milk today is associated with just one-third of the greenhouse gas emissions linked to producing a glass of milk in the 1940s, Dr Van Eenennaam said during her talk.
This was accomplished as traditional selective breeding improved the productivity of dairy cows so much that the number of dairy cows in the United States dropped from a high of 25.6 million in 1944 to about 9 million today.
This change was seen even as the country experienced a 1.6-fold increase in total milk production, she added.
‘A number of breeding methods, including artificial insemination, embryo transfer, crossbreeding and, more recently, genomic selection, have been used to achieve these improvements,’ Dr Van Eenennaam said.
Research is now underway to extend applications of gene editing in the future.
Gene editing might, for example, make it possible to produce offspring of only one gender, such as only hens for egg-laying operations. ”
- Most scientists ‘can’t replicate studies by their peers’
Science is facing a “reproducibility crisis” where more than two-thirds of researchers have tried and failed to reproduce another scientist’s experiments, research suggests.
This is frustrating clinicians and drug developers who want solid foundations of pre-clinical research to build upon.
From his lab at the University of Virginia’s Centre for Open Science, immunologist Dr Tim Errington runs The Reproducibility Project, which attempted to repeat the findings reported in five landmark cancer studies.
“The idea here is to take a bunch of experiments and to try and do the exact same thing to see if we can get the same results.”
You could be forgiven for thinking that should be easy. Experiments are supposed to be replicable.
The authors should have done it themselves before publication, and all you have to do is read the methods section in the paper and follow the instructions.
Sadly nothing, it seems, could be further from the truth.
After meticulous research involving painstaking attention to detail over several years (the project was launched in 2011), the team was able to confirm only two of the original studies’ findings.
Two more proved inconclusive and in the fifth, the team completely failed to replicate the result.
“It’s worrying because replication is supposed to be a hallmark of scientific integrity,” says Dr Errington.
Concern over the reliability of the results published in scientific literature has been growing for some time.
According to a survey published in the journal Nature last summer, more than 70% of researchers have tried and failed to reproduce another scientist’s experiments.

- Genetically modified people: what could go wrong?
I’ll get to genetically modified people; but first, the background on the grand gene hype and propaganda operation—
The war against cancer has painted a picture of hope: genetic solutions.
This, despite the fact that there are no successful genetic treatments, across the board, for any form of human cancer.
The focus on genes is a diversion from obvious causes of cancer in the environment: industrial chemicals, pollutants, pesticides, food additives, and even pharmaceuticals.
This futile human gene-fix has a direct parallel in food crops: modify plants so they can grow despite drenching them with toxic pesticides.
However, massive GMO crop failures, reduced nutritive value of such crops, and the rise of super-weeds are three reasons why the gene model fails.
So it is with human cancer: “let’s modify the genes of people and they will be impervious to the environmental assault of chemicals that cause cancer.”
In other words, the fantasy proposes that someday, humans will be able to live in a toxic soup created by mega-corporations, and even thrive, because they have been genetically altered.
There is no reason under the sun to believe this.
“Trust us. Even if environmental toxins trigger gene mutations that bring about cancer, we can just cancel out those mutations through better human engineering.”
This is like saying you can cure diseases caused by germs even though people’s immune systems are severely and chronically compromised.
The entire cancer industry exists to protect the corporations that are manufacturing products that cause cancer.
I’ve made these points during radio interviews, and I make them here again, because major media news outlets are silent; they are part of the cancer industry and are beholden to the cancer-causing corporations that buy huge blocks of advertising.
In the so-called research community, scientists can spin their wheels and obtain grant monies to do experiments with genes and mice and ‘cell lines’ (*) forever and never emerge with results that will save lives. (*) (Note: by the way, did you know there is a huge, general scandal with ‘cell lines’? More on that here.)
These scientists and their corporate masters can herald minor tumor reductions. But nothing changes. The war on cancer is a war on people.
Assuming gene damage can cause cancer, the triggering event can occur as a result of coming into contact with environmental toxins. In other words, the toxic effects on genes will continue apace, no matter how much research is done on the composition and disposition of the genes themselves.
Much cancer research does, in fact, discover toxic causes—and it is in the interest of companies that spew those compounds out into the world to cover up their criminal guilt. What better way to achieve that than by asserting: “cancer is all in the genes.”
Look at the giant biotech companies like Monsanto, Bayer, DuPont, Syngenta. In one way or another, they are all involved in chemical AND genetic research and production.
So they are in a prime position to deflect the chemical destruction they are wreaking by pushing “the frontiers of gene research.”
“It’s all about the genes.”
Hype. Hype. Hype.
Yes, some people might be leery. If they have two or three working brain cells.
Let’s take this further. Under the cover of preventing disease (note: all good covert ops float a laudatory goal to conceal their true intent), vaccines are ideal carriers for all sorts of genes that would be permanently incorporated into the human structure.
The enormous tonnage of propaganda about vaccines, and the resultant mandatory laws that enforce vaccination (without fear of liability), create a powerful channel along which re-engineering is eminently possible.
Synthetic genes injected into billions of humans would form a grand experiment to create an altered species.
This grand experiment could be compartmentalized. For example, secretly, genes 1-6 will be injected into Group A in geo-location I. Genes 7-12 will be injected into Group B in location II. And so on.
Vaccine recipients will be subjected to ongoing surveillance to gauge the results. On various pretexts, members of these groups will be brought into clinics for exams and tests, to discover markers that purportedly reveal their bodies’ responses to the genetic alterations.
Are these people stronger or weaker? Do they exhibit signs of illness? Do they report behavioral changes? Through surveillance and testing, all sorts of information can be compiled.
Of course, there is no informed consent. The human guinea pigs have no knowledge of what is being done to them.
- Cannibalism—the Ultimate Taboo—Is Surprisingly Common
Of all the screen villains, none is so disturbing as Hannibal Lecter, in The Silence of the Lambs. It’s not just that he kills people. He also eats them, thus contravening one of our deepest and most ancient taboos: that to consume human flesh is the ultimate betrayal of our humanity. But as zoologist and author Bill Schutt shows in his new book, Cannibalism: A Perfectly Natural History, not all cultures have shared this taboo. In ancient China, for instance, human body parts would appear on Imperial menus. [Find out what happened to one of the Uruguayan rugby players who ate his teammates after their plane crashed.]
When National Geographic caught up with Schutt by phone at his home on Long Island, the author explained how, in the animal kingdom, cannibalism is extremely common; why mad cow disease and a degenerative brain condition found in the highlands of New Guinea were both caused by cannibalism; and how climate change could trigger mass cannibalism. It came as a surprise to me that cannibalism was so widespread across nature. Initially, the party line was that the only times you would see cannibalism—unless you were dealing with black widow spiders or praying mantises—would be when it was stress-related or due to a lack of alternative forms of food. But starting in the 1970s and ’80s, researchers started to uncover many instances across the animal kingdom where it was completely natural behavior.
- Japanese zoo kills 57 monkeys for having ‘invasive alien genes’
A Japanese zoo has killed 57 snow monkeys, nearly one-third of the species in the facility, for carrying “invasive alien” genes, zoo officials said, adding that the animals were all crossbreeds and culling them is legally allowed.
The incident took place in Takagoyama Nature Zoo in the city of Futtsu, Chiba Prefecture, some 45km from Tokyo.
Zoo officials discovered that of 164 Japanese macaques (also known as snow monkeys), at least 57 were crossbreeds with rhesus macaques.
The monkeys were killed by lethal injection, a Futtsu official told AFP, adding that the zoo operator held a memorial service for the macaques at a nearby Buddhist temple.

- Oregon Gov. Kate Brown And AG Ellen Rosenblum Blaze The Oregon Trail Of Political Patronage
As the state contemplates an income tax hike, Oregon’s elites line their pockets with taxpayer money.
In 2016, as politicians across America were fleeing voter wrath, Oregon’s governor and attorney general were blazing an unlikely trail – accepting hundreds of thousands of dollars in campaign donations from businesses with state contracts.
Since 1940, at the federal level, individuals and entities negotiating or working under federal contracts are prohibited from giving political cash to candidates, parties or committees. In Oregon, however, this political patronage is perfectly legal, at least for now.
Our analysis at American Transparency (OpenTheBooks.com) found 207 state contractors gave $805,876 in campaign cash to Governor Kate Brown ($518,203) and Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum ($287,673) since 2012. These businesses hold lifetime state contracts worth at least $2.6 billion. State contractor donations to the governor and attorney general represent 57 percent of current cash on hand in their campaign committees.
We found the data by looking at a universe of companies or their affiliated employees funding Brown or Rosenblum’s campaigns since 2012. We then matched those company names with the contract database provided by the State of Oregon. It’s a trail of conflicts of interest paved with campaign cash and contractor payments.
Life Finds A Wayish
- Strange, Ancient Microbes Push Limits of What Life Can Survive on Earth, and Off
NASA has revived a bunch of very odd microbial creatures from a slumber of tens of thousands of years – and what they’ve discovered about how tenacious and strange life can be could mean space explorers need to take a much closer look at what they may be carrying with them – and what they could bring back.
In giant crystals deep in a Mexican cave, scientists found creatures mostly unknown to science that have evolved to endure their harsh environment by feeding on iron, sulfur and other chemicals. Many have remained dormant for tens of thousands of years — up to 60,000 perhaps — but can still be revived.
“These organisms have been dormant but viable for geologically significant periods of time, and they can be released due to other geological processes,” NASA Astrobiology Institute director Penelope Boston said in announcing their findings at a meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science February 17, National Geographic reports.
“This has profound effects on how we try to understand the evolutionary history of microbial life on this planet.
Boston and her team have spent years exploring Mexico’s volcano-heated Naica mine and its pillars of crystal, searching for extremophiles. They found them inside the mine’s massive crystals: tiny creatures in a state of geolatency, which describes a state of remaining viable in geological materials for a long, long time.
The team removed some in 2008 and 2009, and, “Much to my surprise we got things to grow,” Boston told the Telegraph. “It was laborious. We lost some of them — that’s just the game. They’ve got needs we can’t fulfill. That part of it was really like zoo keeping.”
- Man Repopulated Entire City With Butterflies From His Own Backyard
During the day, Tim Wong is all about water life as an aquatic biologist. But when he changes into his cape at the end of his shift, he transforms into an incredible cultivator of butterflies.
Tending to butterflies was his lifelong hobby – who knew that his backyard conservationism would save a population that vanished from San Francisco?
The pipevine swallowtail – with its breathtaking shades of blue, black and green – isn’t officially endangered, although a major concern broke out when the insect suddenly started rapturing out of California as development efforts multiplied. In fact, the swallowtail vanished so entirely from San Francisco, that Wong had to collect caterpillars from private residencies in vegetative areas in order to start his project.
While we can’t practically stop paradise from being paved over – Wong shows that with just a little dedicated effort, the ecosystem can bounce back.
When he first learned of the predicament of the pipevine swallowtail, the 28-year-old swooped in to help by creating a screened backyard enclosure with ideal environmental conditions for the insect.
He filled it with specific plants that the insects like to feed on. Then, he gathered a group of 20 different pipevine swallowtail caterpillars from nearby areas. As he carefully nursed the small tribe of precious insects, their numbers began to quickly multiply.
Fast forward some years, and the “DIY butterfly breeder” arrives at the San Francisco Botanical Garden’s “California Native” exhibit with a weekly bounty of dozens of caterpillars.
Because of one man’s efforts, pipeline swallowtail butterflies repopulated San Francisco for the first time in literal decades.

Campaigners have expressed outrage at new proposals that could lead to journalists being jailed for up to 14 years for obtaining leaked official documents.
The major overhaul of the Official Secrets Act – to be replaced by an updated Espionage Act – would give courts the power to increase jail terms against journalists receiving official material.
The new law, should it get approval, would see documents containing “sensitive information” about the economy fall foul of national security laws for the first time.
In theory a journalist leaked Brexit documents deemed harmful to the UK economy could be jailed as a consequence.
