Israel’s alliance with Al-Qaeda over Syria
London and Washington have expressed their support for two Israeli airstrikes on Syria; a country gripped by terrorist groups operating inside the country including the al-Qaeda-linked al-Nusra Front. Syria says the Israeli regime has carried out airstrikes against three sites near the Syrian capital on Sunday morning, after another reported Israeli strike against a research center in the country. On this episode, Press TV’s The Debate discusses the issue.
US-Russia relations facing a cold snap
Relationships between US and Russia have been deteriorating since the US adopted the ‘Magnitsky’ bill and Russia retaliated with a law that prohibits US citizens from adopting Russian orphans. The reset that was launched in 2009 is now at a dead end and the relationships between the two countries are at a risk of sinking back to Cold War levels. This, in turn affects relations between Russia and the US in regards to missile defense, Syria, Iran and Afghanistan.
On this week’s INFocus, we will talk to a number of experts to explore the deteriorating relations between the two countries after the ‘Magnitsky’ and anti-adoption bills have been passed by both states.
