Prison Transparency

  • Prisons Without Walls: We’re All Inmates in the American Police State

“It is perfectly possible for a man to be out of prison and yet not free—to be under no physical constraint and yet be a psychological captive, compelled to think, feel and act as the representatives of the national state, or of some private interest within the nation wants him to think, feel and act. . . . To him the walls of his prison are invisible and he believes himself to be free.”—Aldous Huxley, A Brave New World Revisited

Just Cuz, Not Just Cause

  • Justices say it’s enough to cite terrorism in declining visa applicant

The Supreme Court ruled Monday that the federal government does not owe a naturalized citizen a detailed explanation when it refuses to give her foreign husband an immigration visa.

A majority of the court said it is enough for the government to declare the immigrant has been denied entry because of terrorism concerns and not list specific allegations that the spouse or applicant can then contest.

Opportunity Capitalists

  • Dylann Roof Wanted To “Start Race War.” Black Males Answer Him Back:

First of all, the race-war mantra push is what the left-wing wants to declare Martial Law.  They have been waiting for their martyr’s and this idiot, Dylann Roof gave it to them.   A true patriot does not want a Civil War.  However, whites and minority conservatives are not going to sit back and ‘take it.’

At any rate… This is what blacks think of Roof’s call to race war:

  • Charleston Shooter Dylann Roof’s Racist Manifesto

Henry Krinkle and Emma Quangel have uncovered what appears to be the website of Dylann Roof, the man who murdered nine people in a Charleston church earlier this week. (The site was registered in February of this year, and Quangel reports that she confirmed Roof’s responsibility with a reverse whois search.) The site, called The Last Rhodesian, contains a zip file full of photos of Roof in various poses, often armed, sometimes with a Confederate flag, sometimes trampling or burning an American flag. And it contains a manifesto, which doesn’t leave any room for doubt—in case anyone still had any—about the author’s worldview. Here is a sample:

Psychiatric Killers

  • The Devious Matrix Called Psychiatry

(To read about Jon’s mega-collection, The Matrix Revealed, click here.)

“Psychiatry does more than define mental disorders. It purports to describe actual states of mind, and it coalesces and freezes those descriptions in such a way that people believe these states of mind exist. They don’t. They’re fictions. Fantasies. This is an enormous landscape of consciousness-programming. It’s actually reduction. Like many systems before it, psychiatry tries to reduce the possibilities of wide-ranging free consciousness. Throughout history, people have always been afraid of mind freedom. ‘What will people with free minds do?’ ‘What will society become if people’s minds are free?’ I can tell you: society would change radically, right down to its foundations.” (The Underground, Jon Rappoport)

Over the past 30 years, my work has always returned to freedom of the individual.

Not only Constitutional freedom and Bill-of-Rights freedom, but liberation of the power of individual thought and imagination and invention. Because those qualities are unpredictable, open-ended, and limitless. This is where long-term revolution begins.

So naturally, I’ve investigated the premier “science” that claims to have the best understanding of the mind: psychiatry.

I was neither surprised nor shocked to discover that psychiatry is a fraud, a pseudoscience.

No Right of Consent

  • Belgian Doctors Are Euthanizing Patients Without Their Consent

A study published this month in the Journal of Medical Ethics examined the “deliberate” euthanasia of patients in Belgium without their explicit, voluntary consent as required by law.

The study’s author, Raphael Cohen-Almagor, a professor of philosophy and ethics at the United Kingdom’s Hull University, found that life-ending drugs were used “with the intention to shorten life and without explicit request” in 1.7 percent of all deaths in Belgium in 2013.

In 52.7 percent of these cases, the patients were 80 years of age or older. The decision to euthanize was not discussed with the patient in 77.9 percent of the cases because he/she was comatose, had dementia, or “because discussion would have been harmful to the patient’s best interest,” according to the study.

Belgium passed the Euthanasia Act in 2002, which states that only voluntary euthanasia is legally permissible.

Papal Bull

  • Pope Francis’ Climate-Change Encyclical Leaked Four Days Early by Italian Magazine

The 192-page document is Pope Francis’ first major teaching letter on climate change and its effects on the planet’s poor

Italian magazine L’Espresso leaked Pope Francis’ hotly anticipated encyclical on climate change on its website on Monday, breaking an embargo on the document set for Thursday.

The 192-page document is Pope Francis’ first major teaching letter on climate change and its effects on the planet’s poor. Hailed by some as the “Pope of the poor,” Francis’ linkage of environmental and economic issues puts the Vatican out front on a closely watched topic.

A Vatican official told Bloomberg News that the leak was a “heinous act.”

  • Pope lays climate guilt at feet of rich

Pope Francis has blamed the rich and powerful for placing the planet in unprecedented danger as he demanded urgent and concerted global action against climate change.

The Earth is rapidly being turned into “an immense pile of filth” by unbridled greed, he warned in a critique of the “sin” of environmental destruction.

In a landmark papal encyclical, addressed to “every person living on this planet”, he said there was a “solid scientific consensus” that mankind was at least mostly responsible for global warming.

The document, which will become part of the teaching of the Roman Catholic Church, demanded the phasing out of fossil fuels and urged the world to find a way to pay for the transition to green energy, with the rich shouldering the burden.

It castigated governments and hit out at climate change sceptics, whom it accused of being in “denial of the problem” and even, in some cases, responsible for a cover-up.

The Pope also deflected criticism that the Vatican was partly responsible for the environmental crisis through its opposition to birth control.

“To blame population growth instead of extreme and selective consumerism on the part of some is one way of refusing to face the issues,” he said.

The encyclical was applauded by environmentalists, aid agencies, religious leaders and politicians led by Ban Ki-moon, the United Nations Secretary General.

  • Jeb Bush joins Republican backlash against pope on climate change

Republican presidential contender Jeb Bush joined forces with the coal industry and climate deniers in a gathering conservative backlash against the pope, lashing out against a leaked draft of the spiritual leader’s letter on climate change.

In his first official day on the presidential campaign trail, Bush, who is Catholic, told a town hall event in New Hampshire that Pope Francis should steer clear of global affairs.

The energy industry also turned on the pope, with the lobbyist for one of America’s biggest coalmining companies sending out an email blast on Tuesday, rebuking the church leader for failing to promote fossil fuels as a solution to global poverty.

The Stage Is Set

  • Italian Theatre and Drama

Around 1485, Italian rulers began to finance productions of Roman plays and imitations of them. The neoclassical ideal demanded versimilitude which dealt with the strong appearance of truth. Because of versimilitude, fantasy and supernatural elements were avoided in neoclassical plays. The chorus and soliloquies were also discouraged. Reality was stressed in drama along with plays that teach moral lessons.  Every aspect of the drama was top of the line from the scripts to the costumes. Two aspects of Commedia dell’arte were improvisation and stock characters. Some of the reason improvisation was so well done was because actors would play the same characters their whole lives. The strong reputations of the companies brought in huge audiences.

  • Vatican speaker and California Governor in push for massive depopulation… talk of ‘Planetary Court’ and removal of 6 billion people under new ‘Earth Constitution’ and ‘World Government

The depopulationists are on the move again, pushing hard for the elimination of six billion people on planet Earth in order to bring the planet down to what’s being touted as its “sustainable carrying capacity of one billion people.”

But this time, the depopulation agenda may be codified by the Vatican. Professor John Schellnhuber has been chosen as a speaker for the Vatican’s rolling out of a Papal document on climate change. He’s the professor who previously said the planet is overpopulated by at least six billion people. Now, the Vatican is giving him a platform which many expect will result in an official Church declaration in support of radical depopulation in the name of “climate science.”

“The teaching document, called an encyclical, is scheduled for release on June 18 at Vatican City,” reports Breitbart.com. “Perhaps with the exception of the 1968 encyclical on contraception, no Vatican document has been greeted with such anticipation.”

A new Planetary Court to hold power over all nations… one ring to rule them all

Schellnhuber daydreams about a “Planetary Court” guided by a new “Earth Constitution” which would hold power over every nation and government on the planet. As he explains himself in this document on HumansAndNature.org, he’s a proponent of an all-powerful, climate-focused world government that would rule over the planet… a literal “science dictatorship” based on whatever “science” the climate change proponents can fudge together each year.

  • Catholics Attack Pope Over “Climate Change” Fearmongering

Catholics around the world are attacking Pope Francis for advocating a new “global political authority” to tackle so-called “man-made climate change.”

Sun Science Stupid – Pope vs Galileo 2.0

  • Vatican Science Panel Told By Pope: Galileo Was Right

Moving formally to rectify a wrong, Pope John Paul II acknowledged in a speech today that the Roman Catholic Church had erred in condemning Galileo 359 years ago for asserting that the Earth revolves around the Sun.

The address by the Pope before the Pontifical Academy of Sciences closed a 13-year investigation into the Church’s condemnation of Galileo in 1633, one of history’s most notorious conflicts between faith and science. Galileo was forced to recant his scientific findings to avoid being burned at the stake and spent the remaining eight years of his life under house arrest.

John Paul said the theologians who condemned Galileo did not recognize the formal distinction between the Bible and its interpretation.

“This led them unduly to transpose into the realm of the doctrine of the faith, a question which in fact pertained to scientific investigation.

  • Science & The Catholic Church: A Tumultuous History From Galileo To Stem Cells

Science and the Catholic Church share a long and sometimes tumultuous history. As the church leaders gather for the start of conclave Tuesday (Mar. 12), their choice of a new holy leader will affect Catholic views on science in the coming decades, say scientists.

The Catholic Church has come a long way from its inauspicious treatment of Galileo Galilei in the 17th century. It now recognizes a theistic form of both cosmic and biological evolution. But the church remains steadfastly opposed to contraception, abortion and research using human embryonic stem cells.

“The natural sciences are in a steady search for truth, and so is theology,” retired molecular geneticist and Nobel laureate Werner Arber told LiveScience. Arber is president of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences, a scientific group associated with the church that was founded in 1603 and re-founded by the Vatican in 1936.

On Feb. 28, Pope Benedict XVI resigned from office, the first time a pope has stepped down in six centuries. His successor will set the tone for the church’s views on science, as in other matters.

  • How climate-change doubters lost a papal fight

Pope Francis was about to take a major step backing the science behind human-driven global warming, and Philippe de Larminat was determined to change his mind.

A French doubter who authored a book arguing that solar activity — not greenhouse gases — was driving global warming, de Larminat sought a spot at a climate summit in April sponsored by the Vatican’s Pontifical Academy of Sciences. Nobel laureates would be there. So would U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, U.S. economist Jeffrey Sachs and others calling for dramatic steps to curb carbon emissions.

After securing a high-level meeting at the Vatican, he was told that, space permitting, he could join. He bought a plane ticket from Paris to Rome. But five days before the April 28 summit, de Larminat said, he received an e-mail saying there was no space left. It came after other scientists — as well as the powerful Vatican bureaucrat in charge of the academy — insisted he had no business being there.

“They did not want to hear an off note,” de Larminat said.

The incident highlights how climate-change doubters tried and failed to alter the landmark papal document unveiled last week — one that saw the leader of 1 billion Catholics fuse faith and reason and come to the conclusion that “denial” is wrong.

  • The Climate Wars’ Damage to Science

They are behaving like sixteenth-century priests who do not think the Bible should be translated into English.
    Guest essay by Matt Ridley
(Note: due to the length of this essay, I am only including paragraph excerpts here. See the link at the end for the full essay. – Anthony)

The great thing about science is that it’s self-correcting. The good drives out the bad, because experiments get replicated and hypotheses tested — or so I used to think. Now, thanks largely to climate science, I see bad ideas can persist for decades, and surrounded by myrmidons of furious defenders they become intolerant dogmas.

  • The scandal of Britain’s fuel poverty deaths

The social cost of fuel poverty is massive, and growing. In the winter of 2012/13, there were 31,000 extra winter deaths in England and Wales, a rise of 29% on the previous year. Around 30-50% of these deaths can be linked to being cold indoors. And not being able to heat your home also takes a huge toll on health in general: those in fuel poverty have higher incidences of asthma, bronchitis, heart and lung disease, kidney disease and mental health problems.

Now, the government has published new proposals aimed at helping the 6.59 million UK households currently defined as being in fuel poverty. The main thrust is that there will be a legal obligation to improve as many fuel-poor homes “as reasonably practicable” to energy-efficiency rating band E by 2020, band D by 2025 and band C by 2030.

  • FLASHBACK: ABC’s ’08 Prediction: NYC Under Water from Climate Change By June 2015

New York City underwater? Gas over $9 a gallon? A carton of milk costs almost $13? Welcome to June 12,  2015. Or at least that was the wildly-inaccurate version of 2015 predicted by ABC News exactly seven years ago. Appearing on Good Morning America in 2008, Bob Woodruff hyped Earth 2100, a special that pushed apocalyptic predictions of the then-futuristic 2015.

The segment included supposedly prophetic videos, such as a teenager declaring, “It’s June 8th, 2015. One carton of milk is $12.99.” (On the actual June 8, 2015, a gallon of milk cost, on average, $3.39.) Another clip featured this prediction for the current year: “Gas reached over $9 a gallon.” (In reality, gas costs an average of $2.75.)

  • Property Rights Are Under Attack In Oregon, Agenda 21 Coming Soon?

For those of you who are still living blissfully unaware of the looming United Nations plan:

Agenda 21 is a voluntary, non-binding UN action plan which is allegedly focused solely on sustainable development. Adopted by 178 countries in 1992, the plan is based upon a program to abolish poverty and protect “fragile environments” by “properly” managing cities. Some charge the program wants to push all citizens into cities. America is a “signatory” country to Agenda 21.

Because the United Nations Agenda 21 plan is a non-binding statement and not a treaty, a vote on the matter was deemed unnecessary. In the United States, more than 500 cities are members of an international sustainability organization that reportedly supports the implementation of the United Nations biodiversity program.

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) made national headlines and sparked massive controversy last year when the battle at the Bundy Ranch played out on our television screens. The Cliven Bundy incident was just one of multiple heavy-handed BLM actions which caused revolt among property owners and concerned citizens in 2014.
