After reading and reviewing Betsy Gaines Quammen’s 1st book, “American Zion, Cliven Bundy, God & Public Lands in the West”, she and I have spoken often on social media posts, by inbox on either Facebook or Twitter, and over the phone.
She and I may be worlds apart when it comes to certain ideas concerning grazing and public lands. Nonetheless, all in all, I find we aren’t so different, really.
I’m so very glad to know Betsy and to call her my friend. She is such an amazing person. I admire her staunch defense in that which she holds dear. Her truly kind and caring spirit is admirable in an ever increasing, diverse, and sometimes cruel world.
I’m honored and quite proud she’s thought to include me among those “Other Voices,” the last chapter in her newest book, “True West: Myth and Mending on the Far Side of America.” It will be released in late October by Torrey House Press.
